Question about 2004 Harley Davidson XL 1200 C Sportster Custom

Original fuel line seems to short and wants to cink

I got a new pit value for my 07' Sportster 1200 and now the original fuel line doesn't seem to want to connect. It cinks and touches the heads which will melt the line. Im thinking I need a braided line with a natural 90 degree angle to it for it to fit. Or do I need a smaller pit value? This is killing me because we have a beautiful day here in Chicago and my guy has been trying for 3 days to fix this for me and its like asking him to stop for directions, he wont ask for help. Meanwhile Im at home with a bike I cant ride! :(  I would love any suggestions and I have a couple friends that could help me fix this problem if I only had some direction. Can anyone help the Mom with 5 kids who just wants to enjoy my bike and day, and catch up to my guy and his friends with my fixed bike. !?

2001 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 C cranks but won't start. Doesn't seem to be getting spark to plug

Check your pick-up sensor located inside the timing cover, behind the adjustor plate. If the filament is not intact you will have no spark.
A defective coil, cam position sensor, or stator will also cause a no spark condition.

Good luck, i hope this will FixYa and get your bike back on the road.

If this is a carb. bike just turn the fuel petcock to off pos. Fuel injected remove left side side cover and locate fuel pump fuse start bike pull fuse bike will stall and try to start again this will depressurize the system turn key off and do not turn on again. then at the tank connection slide the connector ring up and pull the fuel line down and when you put it back together make sure you hear it click or snap into place locking them together Good Luck

Turning off fuel for tank removal 07 1200c

I think your fuel petcock has the newer vacuum operated petcock. If it does, it will have a small vacuum hose connected to the rear of the petcock. Whenever the engine is off, there is no vacuum on the line and the petcock shuts off the fuel automatically.

If your petcock is the manual version, it should be marked where to put the lever to turn the fuel off.

Keeping the bike running

You could probably just put a longer fuel line between the pet **** and carb instead of installing a 90 degree fitting.

No power to the fuel pump fuse 07 sportster 1200

Power to the fuel pump comes from the system relay via the fuel pump fuse. The power to the relay contact is from the ignition switch via the ECM fuse. The relay is activated with power form the ECM itself and is also controlled by the "stop/run" switch on the right handlebar control, so make sure it is switched to "run".
