Question about 1985 Honda GL 1200 Interstate Gold Wing

No spark when hot 84 goldwing

No spark quit suddenly I have the same problem. As the weather gets warmer it seems to get worse. The bike gets spark when it is cold and runs fine. If I run it, get it hot, then let it sit for a while and cool down just a bit, then fire it up, it quits and has no spark... when reaching normal operating temp. If it cools down some it will start back up again...spark is fine. It seems to be a heat sink problem. I'm starting to run tests now but if you know what it is and could save me some time I would appreciate it!

Why is bike misses at 2000rpm, new plugs fitted could it be leads?, Not a misfire but like a break in the sparking system?

sounds like a fuel issue, how long has the bike been sitting? You said it is worse in certain weather conditions, so i don't think electrical would act up in different weather conditions. I am not sure if your bike has carbs or fuel injection. If it has carbs, you most likely have dirty pilot jets.

When long distens run engine not pulling properly

Could be a couple things, if it seems to get worse the more miles you put on, off hand I'd guess the bike is running hot. Are you using good premium fuel with NO alcohol? Gas with ethanol nowadays accounts for 1/2 my business. Is it surging, back firing? Do your exhaust pipes look like they're getting quite hot? Does it start harder when the engine is hot? How many miles are on the bike? Think of some more symptoms and write back and we'll see if we can narrow it down.

Was riding my ZZR600E out locally last week without when for no apparent reason the bike starts to misfire and I lose power at low revs. After limping home I take a look....fuel is fresh so not likely to...

You can check the primary and secondary resistances in the coils, dont know offhand the values, but the coils should be the same.
The fact is gets worse as it warms could mean a carb float is flooding,
The vacumn fuel tap can be a problem, this can also cause fuel to flood into the sump , and cause this problem.

Goes 5 miles and dies

Does it start right back up?if it does does it run another five miles. Does the car seem to be too hot? Is the check engine light on with the engine running? If the lights on get the codes read and follow their lead. over heating is in the five mile range as is the fuel tank not getting air in to let the fuel flow out. The exhaust can be stopped up but if it does restart after quitting it'll runn only a short time before it quits again. Driving the car harder will make it quit sooner as will warmer weather.

1990 Goldwing When de-accelerate at about 70 mph or higher experience vibration. Seems to be getting worse. Now just speeds above 65 I can begin to feel vibration. Good tires.

Good tires, could be bad or need balancing, air pressure adjusted.or shocks adjusted or repaired. Also balance the load on your bike do not exceed the weight limits for the storage boxes.

Six years is a long time and you are plrbably having a good time getting it going. My friend, I suggest you have the Honda Shop do a dune up on your machine before youtake it anywhere serious.

Daytona 955i running hot

That is quite normal - these bikes run very hot and will typically reach temp where fan kicks in (103 deg C) while bike is sitting at idle, even if not particularly hot weather. Needs good airflow through the rad to keep the temp down.
Fortunately, when fan comes on it lowers the temp quite quickly.
