Replace clutch cable

Hi anonymous, this not an easy procedure for the do it yourself type person, I would suggest taking it to your local dealer or reputable shop, call around for best price should be around $150. But if your willing to give it a try here is the short version: remove necessary parts of the exhaust system to gain acess to the transmission side cover, next back off jam nut and turn in threads of cable end, remove clutch lever and cable end, cut all try straps securing cable, remove tranny side cover, remove ball and ramp mechanism, remove clutch cable end. Your going to need snap ring pliers. Good luck

Hi my Suzuki wagon r+ had a clutch replacement last year and the clutch pedal is a little stiff. However i must stress all gears are usable with no noises coming from the box. I have a cable clutch and not...

When you replace the clutch it would have been a good idea to replace the clutch cable as well. The inner cable wears a groove in the outer case and this is now binding and making the pedal movement heavy. What you cannot push in easily ,the clutch cannot push back easily so there is a possibility of increased wear on the throw out bearing or slipping clutch. Replace it as soon as possible.

My clutch wont engage.

you need to take the clutch cover off and inside you will find a small shaft going up to your clutch lever. If that lever is broken you will have to replace that shaft. If the clutch shaft checks out check your cable that could be broken. If it is then replace and adjust and you are good to go. Good luck on the bike

Hard to press clutch pedal

Hi, if its a cable clutch , replace the cable with a new one etc. is there a winning noise from the back of the engine with the clutch depressed, if so , could be the release bearing that's the problem, you might get some vibration through the clutch pedal if this is the case, good luck.

How do I install the clutch release shaft on a KX 125?

The clutch arm where the cable connects is on the left and it connects to the clutch via a shaft that pushes a rod which then pushes a ball bearing sitting in the holder and then the holder pushes the clutch operating plate to dis-engage the clutch. The only seal is on the clutch arm shaft that goes into the casing. At worst, only the springs on the operating plate would need to be removed then a 1/4" inward push on the rod from the right side would give clearance for the shaft to be inserted.
