Put 45 lbs of air in the rear shock with a low volume air pump that has a check valve in the hose so that it does not bleed off the air when you take the air hose off of the bike the air fitting is located on the right side of the bike on top of the side cover looks just like a valve stem for a tire

If it's in limp in mode it won't shift out of 2nd gear. Get the trouble codes read. The solenoid pack is a pretty common failure. But don't just throw parts at it. Get the codes first.

Death wobble in 4x4 van

Check you steering and duspension system. Check ball joints and steering linkages. With the vehicle in the floor have someone move the steering wheel side to side. Not whole turns just side to side movement while you look at the steering linkage to identify any loose parts. Then raise the vehicle and check your ball joints by grabbing top and bottom of the tires and shaking them.

I have a 2003 impala I just replaced my driver tier and it was balanced. And it is shaking bad over 30 stops when I go over 50 ??

DRIVE REAL SLOW LIKE 5 MPH ON FLAT GROUND. NO BUMPS PARKING LOT.LET GO OF THE STEERING WHEEL IF THE STEERING WHEEL ROCKS BACK AND FORTH. YOU HAVE A CORD SEPARATION IN A FRONT WHEEL IF YOU FEEL YOUR SET ROCKING. THEN ITS A REAR WHEEL. THE ONLY TO FIX A CORD SEPARATION IS TO REPLACE THE TIRE.

F150, 2007, shimmy between 45 and 55 mph - dealer has worked on it several times but hasn't solved the problem

Hello, I have seen many reports of Vibrations in the F150. One of the major overlooked causes is the rear E-brake system and the rear Calipers bumping out-of-round Rotors. Have the Dealer inspect the E brakes and make sure the cables allow for slack. The rear Calipers also need to retract far enough from the rotors as not to bump the rotor when the brakes are freewheeling.

I remember reading about Ford trying some composite driveshafts which tended to "Whip" at certain RPMs. People were going to Salvage yards to buy the older steel driveshafts which would not do that. You do have to watch for Spline size and driveshaft length because of Supercabs, Supercrews, short, medium amd long beds. But if you have a Dealer trying to fix this, at least he could try balancing the driveshaft.

Checkout the Website Planetfeedback.com I did a search for F150 driveshaft whipping and found a long list of problems like yours. I hope you consuder my solution very helpful and would like an update if the problem was solved.

On my 2006 Ram 2500 truck. Last week I hit a bump while traveling about 60 MPH. The front tire started shaking, I thought I had a blow out. When I slowed down to about 30 it all stopped. When I...

A few possibilities.... bent rim, broken steel belt in tire, or a wheel weight that keeps the tire/wheel combination in balance has fallen off. Not sure how big the bump was, so other options would be suspension related. I would check the tire and/or wheel first.

I hit a medium size bump and hear a clanking noise in the forks

Well, this is not unusual, especially on the Fat Boy or the dressers. You've got a lot of stuff up there that will rattle if you hit a big enough bump.

It could be being caused by either too stiff of a fork assembly or too soft in the case of it bottoming out. Bottoming out is a dangerous situation. The way you change the "stiffness" of the front end is by change the viscosity of the fork oil. Most Harleys use "H-D type E" fork oil that is stated by most websites as being close to 30 weight. A 20 weight oil would make the forks "softer" while a heavier weight oil would make them "stiffer".

On dirt bikes, I've drilled additional holes in the damper rods inside the forks to give them quicker action and more bump dampening but I've never done it on a Big Harley.

Good Luck

Every time i hit a bump in the front end i feel everything and when the car gets to 30 mph it shakes left to right in the front end then up and down, what do i have to do to fix this problem?

sounds like you have got a front suspension arm lower ball joint with exsesive play. You will need to jack the front wheels off the ground 1 at a time and shake them left to right and up and down if you feel any play in the wheel then you need to replace the bottom arm.

Front driver side suspension knock over bumps

See if you can bounce car and replicate the noise. If you can, you should be able to find it, and put your hand on it. Stabilizer bushing are a place to look, both at the lower a arm and on the frame. If you narrow it down to the strut, it will need to be replaced. The front trans mount also goes bad, try putting it in drive with your foot on the brake and give it some gas and see if the engine moves an excessive amount.

Steering vibrates over 30 mph.

I would look at changing out your bushes. do both sides as if this happend on the right you can bet your bottom dollar that the left will soon go as well. While you are at it check your shockabsorber mounts.
