Question about 2003 Yamaha YZF-R1

Spling oil at oilfilter gasket when you just stsrt an troth the engine without letting it get the right oil temperature!

Error message 2  on a 2003 yamaha r1 when you just start the motor without letting the oil get the right temperature, and you troth the engine (the engine goes on pressure I think) it will release (spill) the oil at the side of the oilfilter gasket! What can be the problem in this case? Maybe the oil releave valve doesn't work properly I thought, or is this any other problem?

This could be one of the solutions, but eventually I've resolved the problem. It seems that the releave valve of the oilfilter was stuck, so I've relaced this for a new one, and the problem was fixed.

    Thanks for the replied solution.

If the oil filter (metallic cylinder behind exhaust pipes) is tight properly it cannot spill oil.Remove it and check if it has it's rubber gasket or buy a new original one (better).Apply engine oil with your finger to it's o-ring (gasket).Tight it by hand as much as you can and then use the oil filter tool to turn it clockwise 1/4 turn more. Then check again if it spills oil.

How to install new oil housing kit 94 f 150 5.0

If you got oil coming out when it's running around oil filter. You probably got a oilfilter adapter. You have to remove oil filter(replace) and let oil drop off adapter. After a bit wipe adapter off and you will foind one alan-head bolt in the center or two alan-head bolts. After removing clean, install gasket or a o-ring it could take both. Don't over tighten bolts. Make sure you clean off old oil where oil filter seats

I have a 95 eagle talon turbo. My problem is that why is water passing through the oil filter. I remove the oil filter n it had water. Can you help me please

There is a huge chance that you have a busted head gasket! You most likely have water on your dipstick when you pull it out to check your oil. If this is the problem, it needs to be fixed soon because it can cause MAJOR engine damage really quick. Take it to a mechanic as soon as possible and have it looked at......

Where is the motor oil drain plug on flxh

This is straight from the repair manual:

1. Ride vehicle until engine is at normal operating temperature.
2. Locate oil filler plug/dipstick on right side of vehicle at top
of transmission case. To remove the oil filler plug, pull
steadily while moving plug back and forth.
3. Locate oil drain plug at front left side of the oil pan.
Remove the oil drain plug and allow oil to drain completely.
4. Inspect the oil drain plug O-ring for cuts, tears or signs of
deterioration. Replace as necessary.
5. Remove the oil filter as follows:
a. Obtain the OIL FILTER WRENCH (HD-42311). The
tool allows easy removal of the oil filter without risk
of damage to the crankshaft position sensor or
cable.
b. Place the jaws of the wrench over the oil filter with
the tool oriented vertically. See Figure 1-1.
c. Using a 3/8 inch drive with a 4 inch extension, turn
wrench in a counterclockwise direction. Do not use
with air tools.
NOTE
Use OIL FILTER WRENCH (HD-44067) if HD-42311 is not
available.
6. Clean the oil filter mount flange of any old gasket material.
7. Lubricate gasket with clean engine oil and install
new
oil
filter on filter mount. Hand tighten oil filter 1/2-3/4 turn
after gasket first contacts filter mounting surface. Do
NOT
use OIL FILTER WRENCH for oil filter installation.
NOTE
Use of the Premium 10 micron synthetic media oil filter is
highly recommended, Part No. 63798-99 (Chrome) or 63731-
99 (Black).
8. Install engine oil drain plug and tighten to 14-21 ft-lbs
(19-28 Nm).
9. With vehicle resting on jiffy stand, add 3-1/2 quarts (3.3
liters) engine oil as specified in Table 1-1. Use the proper
grade of oil for the lowest temperature expected before
the next oil change.

Over heat some times but temp gage is saying its fine not head gasaet

not sure what exactly you are asking... if your temp gauge is normal with the motor up to normal temperature (210-211 degrees for dodge) and suddenly moves down to the cool mark like around 100-150 usually that indicates you are low or have no coolant. if your engine starts making knocking noises and pinging or sounds bad when this happens it is bad the motor is overheating.
to find out if it is the head gasket. let the engine cool down, remove radiator cap look if you see oil in the radiator (antifreeze is usually orange, red or green) if it is black or milky white in the radiator good chance it is a blown head gasket, check the oil if there is water in the oil, good chance it is a blown head gasket. leave radiator cap off make sure radiator is full start engine let temperature come up to normal keep everyone away from radiator, rev engine in the safety of the car if you have radiator fluid shooting out of the radiator like a geyser it is blown head gasket

Oilfilter

You didn't post the size of motor but once you drop the skid plate, you will see it.

The oil filter is under the engine skid plate. You need to remove the trap door to see.
The skid plate door is located by the drivers side door, directly midway underneath the vehicle. You will need a flat or Phillips-hear srewdriver to open the trap door. Don't worry, the screws are 'loss-proof' and will not fall off the trap door plate. Once this has been removed, the oil drain plug and oil filter are now visible and accessable (how smart is that!) Typical oil change and oil filter replacement time = 15-20 mins. for a familiar shadetree. p.s. The Inline 6 (24 valve - 4.2L) takes 7 quarts of oil. Good luck!
