I have a 1996 lincoln continental and for some reason my key wont turn in the ignition. so my car wont start. i looked to see if there was something in there. there was and i got it out. maybe there may be something else still in there. but if no. can anything mechanically cause it.
I had this problem. Don't let anyone fool you I went to places that were going to charge me $200. I can't afford that. I could not turn my key and had to start from the solenode. After a machanic opened a part just above the steering wheel it was just a electric connector I have seen when fixing light fixtures that corrected the problem. Sometime there is a bit more to it but get a trustworthy mechanic. Now got to get someone to help me with current problem struts.
Try to turn the wheel left then right. it might just be locked. it might take several trys to get it to release
