Hi, Anonymous your starter motor is not the problem it's the starter drive/Bendix/clutch which is a mechanical gear driven component that engages the clutch pack ring gear to turn over the engine. It has an internal mechanism that allows the gear to turn in one direction and once the engine starts allows the drive gear to free spin. If gear free spins in both directions then the drive gear has failed, it is not serviceable and needs to be replaced. For more information about your issue and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the links below. Good luck and have nice a day.

If it shudders check your motor mounts as they may be soft or broken. If it slips it may be because the pressure plate is not fully engaging. If it has a clutch cable adjust it. If it has a hyd system try adjusting the master cylinder rod to the pedal if it is adjustable. Also possible you put in the incorrect parts. Did you carefully compare old and new parts?

Just because the master is new does not mean it isn't faulty. If you are certain you have bleed all the air from the system, I suspect you got a bad master.

I have a corolla wagon L-extra automatic diesel, i have used it many years and i have rebuilt the engine as well. have a problem on cold start, the gear wont get engage. i have to step on the gas and wait...

im guessing you hav a stick--TRANS,if so check th WEIGHT OF the TRANS GEAR OIL,IF its too heavy, yea this is a prob when its cold, you need to change it put THE LIGHT-ONE or to FACTORY--- SPECS, or maybe your clutch-pedal is not fully engaging the CLUTCH?

Clutch issue after throwout bearing instal

once you have bled out all the air ,if the pedal still engages right down then suspect the fingers on the release plate are worn.Never replace a part of the clutch, allways change all 3 components,it save all the hastle of taking it to bits again and again.

Be sure you were given the correct cable, The stock cable is part number 54011. Compair the old cable to the new one.

Clutch wont engage

It sounds like the clutch must be incorrectly assembled. No offense meant, is is easy to miss one little thing. Go to the site below and look at the clutch diagram. Note that the assembly begins and ends with a friction plate and that a metal pressure plate goes between each friction plate. You should have 7 metal pressure plates and 8 friction plates.

The clutch outer basket seldom goes bad unless hit with a hammer or a tree. Why did it need to be replaced? Did you compare the new OEM hub to the old one? They may have given you the wrong basket. The tighter the cable the less likely the clutch will engage. You should have 1/4" end play at the handlebar lever. By the way, exactly what oil did you put in the gearbox after replacing the clutch? Okay, this is a good start. Post a comment if you need to get back to me.

Please rate this solution. Thanks!

Clutch wont disengage properly

What kind of oil is in the crankcase? Wet clutches take a sprcial oil, noy motor oil. If oil is correct, Is the cable and release levers fully disengaging the clutch? There is an adjustment for the rod inside the clutcjh hub . That could be short stroking.
