Question about 2002 Honda VT 1100 C Shadow Spirit
2005 Honda Shadow - same thing. Stopped for gas and bike wouldn't start. Checked fuses, battery etc.. Found that walking to front of bike and slowly wiggling the starter button 1/2 way the bike could be started - crazy, but cannot start with button while facing normal start direction on seat.
Seems like the start switch needs to be replaced. Not sure what's involved since cables are seated inside the switch itself.
A little annoyed that this seems to be a common problem with the Shadow/Sabres. Very tricky to find out why the bike would no longer start besides the reach around from front of bike and wiggling the button until it actually will start again. Ugggggh

Sounds like you have a bad relay switch. if you have an ohm meter or a multi meter check the relays that are past the fuses
