Found several listed on eBay, ('motorcyclejunki" is one) don't know your location, so I can't suggest a good local shop or anything.

Hi, Glen and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel tank empty.
2. Fuel supply valve/petcock turned off.
3. Fouled spark plugs.
4. Engine flooded as a result of overuse of the enricher.
5. Vacuum hose to the fuel supply valve/petcock disconnected, broken, cracked, or pinched.
6. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged.
7. Fuel line to carburetor or throttle body pinched or kinked.
8. Carburetor float stuck.
9. Fuel injectors clogged.
10. Severely discharged or damaged battery, you need 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
11. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
12. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil, battery or plug between ignition sensor and CDI box.
Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting check for leakage in the dark, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.
13. Ignition timing incorrect due to a faulty MAP, CKP, O2, TPS, sensors.
14. Faulty neutral, clutch lever, or kickstand safety switch.
15. Faulty fuel pump or fuse or relay.
16. Faulty CDI box.
17. A stuck bent or burnt valve.
18. Tip over sensor needs a reset.
19. Check for engine trouble codes.

How do you check the crankcase breather for blockage /clog on a 97 triumph adventurer

Hi, Martin for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. Having problems starting a 2001 Triumph Adventurer. Previous owner let the bike sit for a while and a nephew started it and ran it periodically. Wouldn't start reliably and when it did it...

There is also a switch on the kick stand, check that for being junked up or loose also. Is the neutral light on, again the ECU will be looking for the neutral light or at least the trans being in neutral. Then you may just need to try adjusting the clutch. Feel for a resistance then adjust for a bit of slack on the lever. They do not have your particular model but look here at this site for a manual on a Triumph. Most company's use the same wiring on other models or at least you can get an idea of where to look. www.carlsalter.com Hope this helps Fix Ya up.

Oil

Most oils are preferential, but don't use car or low friction special oils in your bike, and beware of detergent oils if you don't know the service history, they will break down in a bike and can dislodge accumulated crud. To be safe10/40- 20/50 Motorcycle oil for engine/ part synthetic if you like, but not a necessity sae 80s gearbox, Dot 4 clutch and prepacked branded long life coolant with integral lubricant for cooling.

You should not rely on the possibility its metric, it may be BSP, check it by buying a selection of nuts and trying them before you order, but why not just order a seal kit comprising the Dowty washer if its the thread that's leaking?
