You may also need a longer brake line and other cables, depending on how far up and back the bars will be moving and how much slack you have in the various cables now.

Just make sure the cables are not binding or too short.
Replacing the risers are pretty straight forward.
Remove the four hold down bolts then remove the stock risers. Towel will help here to prevent handle bars from scratching the tank. Helps to have the front wheel straight before starting this process. Install the new risers using the hardware supplied. Be sure to check clutch and throttle for binding BEFORE riding.
If they bind and prevent easy operation you may have to purchase extension cables. Be sure to torque the 4 bolts that hold down the handle bars properly. After a few trips check and tighten again to the proper torque settings. Installed the Baron kick back risers on my 1100 and it took a few trips to get use too.
After that wouldn't take anything for them! Sitting higher and not all slumped over. Nice looking too!

Good luck!
Hope this Helps!

How do i raise the handlebars on the gt 3.0

Most bicycles have adjustable handlebar risers. Just loosen the center riser bolt 4 or 5 turns (you may have to use a mallet or hammer to break loose the draw nut from the neck) then raise it up "no higher than the max line indicator". If you still need it higher search for an extended riser or more suitable handlebars.

How do i raise the handlebars on the schwinn graft mountain bike? Do i need a riser?

Probably. Getting Riser Bars or a riser stem or simply flipping the stem over or getting one with a different rise and reach might give you the added height you need. If you LIKE the handlebars, the stem is the best option as most new ones come with front loaders (detachable front caps) that allow replacement without stripping components off one side of the handlebar. In minutes a Bicycle Shop could swap any number of them onto your bike for you to try.

I want to install handlebar risers on my 2003 F650 CS. I think I need a longer brake line, but don't know where I can find one that fits. Any advice? Miguel

You can purchase custom brake lines from Spiegler. Just have to measure the length that you need and tell them what fittings you want installed.

How to tighten handlebars on a harley davidson 1997 road king?

If it is the clamp that is loose, remove the riser cover and tighen the 4 allem head screws. If it is the riser base that is loose, turn your bars to the left, look under the triple tree and you will see a large bolt head, one one each side, use a socket and tighten, swing the bars to the right, and repeat on the other side.
Happy riding!

Where online can I get the handle bar risers? what is the searchable name for them?

The searchable name (as far as I know is) handlebar risers. As for where to get them, you can get them from various places online. Depends what and where you want to buy from (i.e. US, Canada, Europe, Japan)
Here's a handy google search:

I have a 2005 Honda VTX 1300 that I can't get the handlebars to tighten. The risers are completely flat when pulled tight and the bars still twist. Is there a way to fix the problem?

The top pieces of the risers can be filed or sanded down to create a gap between the top & bottom piece to increase the clamping pressure, my guess is you have aftermarket handlebars which are smaller in diameter than the stock ones.

hi dennis. firstly there ain't no extra inside the headlight. it's very tight in there. remove the light using small phillips screws on either side. (dang what a mess)
you can slip off your old handlebar controls no problem, loosen them up before removing the riser clamps, then you can easily slip them off as you can move the bars to do so. slip controls on new bars and try mounting, if wires are too tight you will have to find them in the headlight and extend them.
