I dont own a harley and never have, but have had honda, and triumphs, your gear oil could possibly be your engine oil as well, the engine oil has dual purpose,,,,, no there no such thing as a dumb question,,, thats how you learn, ring a harley dealer, as to talk to spare parts and tell them year model of your bike and ask them if it has a seperate gear oil from engine oil, if it has ask them where your filler cap is, it might be under seat or under tank. my radiator cap for my daytona is under front tank cowl panel,,, ask dealer to be sure on everything with your bike

How to check trans.fluid on standard .cant find dip stick.

checking the gear oil on the Manual transmission requires you to get under the car, and about 1/2 to 3/4 way up the side of the transmission, there is an about 1/2" ***** in plug. remove the plug, and stick your finger in the hole. the gear oil should be up to the bottom of that hole to be full. most manual trans use 90 weight gear oil.

How do i put in gearbox oil

hard to change gears is a clutch problem mainly so make sure that the clutch is operating properly ( makes no difference if hydraulic or cable)
Drain out the oil from the drain plug on the bottom of the box. clean the magnet on the plug. check for metal bits as this indicates bearings or gear problems. Replace the plug. About half way up the side of the box you will find another plug. Remove it. The oil you are using should be to makers specs but I prefer a 80-90 epw gear oil as the gears do a lot of work and need that extra tension in the oil to keep the teeth apart. Some makers recommend 30 grade straight mineral oil (not engine oil) but use what is recommended. You get the gear oil in 1ltre bottles ( pint or quart) and they now have an extendible plastic hose that you pull out. Put that in the plug hole and squeeze the bottle. Will probably use 2 and 1 half bottles depending on the box. Squeeze in oil until it flows back out the fill hole. Let it level out as that is the correct level of oil for the box. refit the plug tight

Oil pressure gauge

Oil sender unit possibly. Have seen problems with some of the Toyotas sender units before. Best to take the sender unit off and check the oil pressure to be safe so you do not cook the engine.

Leaks oir or grease at shaft where beater attaches

eaking of oil in a stand mixer is not necessarily indicative of a large problem.

Kitchenaid stand mixers are overpacked with oil to last the lifetime of the motor. If the motor sits idle for some time (is not used), the oil may begin to drip from the gears and settle. Oil leakage may primarily be seen from around the beater shaft or planetary action.

A stand mixer can lose up to a 1/4 cup of oil before it needs to be serviced.

It is recommended to run the mixer on speed 10 for 2 minutes in order to redistribute oil back into the motor. In order to prevent future occurences, this is recommended to be done every 3 weeks if mixer is not being used.

If you still feel as though the mixer is in need of service, you may locate Kitchenaid certified repair centers through the following link:

Gear oil level

There is no way to see the level in the gear box. There should be a small plug somewhere on the top the the gear box. You will need a very small funnel to put in. If the gears are crunching or grinding then try putting a little in. Just stanard auto gear oil will do.
