Electrical low-beam headlight wire on 02 Chevy Trailblazer burnt

Headlight went out, but then came back on. Went to replace low beam light bulb, and noticed burning smell. Pulled bulb out and noticed that three prongs in bulb housing, and wiring that it plugs into, was bunt. How do I replace wiring? i have an '05 trailblazer & this just happened to me. going to the dealership tomorrow.

Get yourself to a junkyard and pack yourself a light lunch while you're at it. Take a leisurely stroll through the junk that closely resembles the one you need parts for. Go to the closest wiring harness to the headlight assembly, take your time and don't go trying to **** it, and unplug it from the bulbs up front. Make a simple and straight forward swap and do take the time to stop and smell the junkers, it's quite relaxing! Then, you should seriously make sure your new wiring harness is properly grounded (!), which I suspect to have been a contribing factor to your problem of overheating the bulb socket. Do take the time to go over the stuff that should be grounded and make it so. Th e job is quite simple and well worth you taking the time to do it yourself.

High beams work for both lights, 1 low beam does not

Check for power with a test light with the light connected. If you have power then its the ground. If no power then you will need to trace the wire back to find break. As I recall they did have seperate fuse for left and right headlight high & low beam. Also did you get a defective new bulb?

HEADLIGHTS NOT WORKING

It can be faulty headlight switch or issue with its wiring. Or its faulty head light fuse.

Low beam on 2006 trailblazer quit working but have high beam

probably just a burnt out bulb. You do not have to replace the whole headlight as on older vehicles , just the small bulb inside.
I would hope that your friendly local chevy dealer would be happy to do it for just the cost of the bulb. Also some parts stores like pep boys or autozone will help customers out with quick easy fixes like that.

How do you get to the low beam to replace it on a 2003 chevy trailblazer. it is burnt out and i can't find how to remove it to replace it.

there is an access cover at the rear of the headlamp that you need to remove. once you do that you will gain access to the headlight bulb. remove the electrical connector and then twist the bulb counterclockwise to remove it.

No low beam lights

You have a short in the wiring harness, sounds like maybe a short or someone has worked on this before. With the light switch unplugged you should not have power to the headlights at all

2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer

First face the vehicle so the battery in on the right.
Second open hood.
Third Remove the Grill by pushing firmly on two retainer clips that are on the top, use the wide slot screwdriver to get the rest of the clips off. Pull up gently on the grill it should then pop out. The grill extends under each headlight assemblymag-glass_10x10.gif any other retainer clips should release when the grill in popped out.
  • Step 2 Fourth on top of the headlight assembly you will see one 1" tab on the right and left side, pull the tabs upward about two inches and this should release the headlight assembly. You then should be able to pull the headlight assembly out toward you.
  • Step 3 Finally at the back of the headlight assembly you will see two rubber caps one for low beam and one for high beam, the white base is for the low beam and the black base is for the high beam. Unsnap the wire harness from the bulb base, turn the bulb clockwise.

Replace the bulbs high beam on the outside and low beam on the inside.

Head light bulb replacement 2003 chevy trailblazer

Simple! (I have the same model as well) Pop off the front chevy grill - it's held on with spring clips. Then look at the headlight assembly - there are 2 slide clips on either side, near the top - they have a tab that is bent forward - lift them UP. It may take a little force as they are usually stiff. The headlight assembly can then be pulled off the car, and the bulbs replaced.
