Brake light indicator not engageing with front or rear brake

Yzf r1 2001 - New battery - light for rear license plate not connected -

Checked power all the way up to other side of brake switch front and rear good. That is as far as my knowledge thus far takes me. Need this pretty quick being that I need an inspection to be legal. Oh also mysteriously my front lights will not come on high beams work when engaged and turn off when disengagaged. left right blinkers work good. I have a scorpio alarm kit installed as well seems to function correctly with remote. Hope this is enough info, if not please email for more. Thank you.

I know it sounds basic, but had similiar problem on my 2000 yzf r6. Both the contacts to the brake light were touching and the bulb was blown. Is it a standard back end + lights etc?

Did you check the common return? Most of the time it is connected to the chassis of the car. See if anything is lose or corroded.

Tail light and brake light has stopped working YZF-R125

Hi, Anonymous tail light issues are relatively easy to diagnose and repair always check the tail light fuse first and make sure you have power on both sides of the fuse holder and the usual suspects are:
1. Tail light bulb element is broken.
2. Tail light bulb soldered contacts are extremely worn down.
3. Tail light bulb socket corroded.
4. Tail light bulb socket has no power and or ground.
5. Tail light wiring harness damaged from the rear tire.
6. Tail light rear fender wiring harness connector faulty due to corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets.
Before diagnosing any brake light issue always check the bulb and fuse first for integrity a brake light staying on is usually caused by the front brake light switch, which is mechanical, not disengaging. On early models moving the throttle control housing closer to the front brake master cylinder is the main fix. On late models, the switch gets tweaked and needs to be realigned. A brake light that does not come on when the brake lever is applied can be caused by a faulty switch or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. The rear brake light switch is hydraulic and it is extremely rare to malfunction in a closed circuit condition causing the brake light to stay on. Usually, rear brake light switch issues are caused by no brake pedal free play or a sticky rear master cylinder piston. A brake light that does not come on when the rear brake pedal is depressed can be caused by a faulty switch, air contamination in the brake line, or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. Check your fuses, even fuses not associated with lighting. If all ok it is probably the muti-funtion switch on the steering column, It is the switch that your turn signal lever connects to.

2001 Monte Carlo SS 3.8 v6 Rear park lights are out as well as the dash lights, brake lights work headlights work front running and park lights work, all turn signal lights work. replaced headlight switch...

Park, Tail, Marker Lamps, and License
The park, tail and marker lamps, including the license lamps, turn on when the headlamp switch is placed in either the PARK or the HEAD position, or anytime the headlamps are requested. The RT I/P #1 fuse in the RH I/P fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to both the park lamp relay switch contacts and to the park lamp relay coil circuit. The park lamp relay coil is controlled by the body control module (BCM). When the headlamp switch is placed in the PARK position, the BCM energizes the park lamp relay coil control circuit.
Current flows from the park lamp relay switch to both front and rear park lamp fuses and to their respective park/tail lamps. The front park lamps are grounded at G101. The rear park lamps are grounded at G302. The license plate lamps are a part of the rear park lamp circuit and are grounded at G302. The inadvertent power control feature prevents the park lamps from remaining on more than 10 minutes if left on. If the park lamps are turned on after the ignition switch has been turned OFF, or is in the ACCY position, they will remain on until turned off or until the battery runs dead.

Did you the REAR PARK LP fuse 15 amp in the right insturment panel fuse box.
