Where do i look to see how much gear oil i have in drive shaft gerabox1982 gs suzuki l 1100

Since the other "answers" failed to note that this is a shaft-drive bike and the OP asked about GEAR oil and not engine oil....
On the side of the rear hub that has the shaft drive, look near the top of the hub. There should be a filler-cap of some sort. Usually on the face of the hub, but above the center-line and slightly to the rear
Put the bike on a level surface and put on the center stand (or have a friend hold the bike level). remove the filler-cap (inspection cap). The gear oil level should just start to be at the lowest point of the opening for the cap.

Why is differential 90 weight gear oil leaking out by the bottom of foot shifter in that area you can see it leaking on ground and in starter the gear oil for a drive shaft bike not a water cooled bik

After riding the bike the oil warms and thins so finds it easier to find its easy out.
It sounds like you have a leaking seal that needs replacing.
Found out exactely which seal is leaking by wiping all oil off the bike and getting down and watching where it comes from it will start with a drip then go from there

I have a 150 rr bike and need to know the correct position for the balancing shaft in relation to the cranck shaft

there should be marks on the balancer drive and driven gears. The "pork chop" weight on the balancer runs exactly opposite the piston, ie; when piston is up, weight is down.

How do you chace a oil pump on a honda goldwing 1200 cc

There are two oil pumps; the Main Oil Pump and the Scavenger Oil Pump. I will list the procedure for both pumps.

Main Oil Pump

1) Put the bike up on the center stand
2) Remove the engine front cover
3) Remove the collar and O-ring seals from the oil pump cover
4) Remove the bolts and Phillips screws holding the oil pump cover on and remove the cover
5) Remove the dowel pins from the oil pump body
6) Remove the inner and outer rotors
7) Remove the drive pin and washer from the drive shaft and remove the oil pump body from the cylinder block - The drive shaft will remain in the cylinder block. (Do not lose the locating dowel in the cylinder block).
8) Clean all parts before replacing the new oil pump
9) Install in reverse order

NOTE: If it is necessary to remove the oil pump drive shaft, the cylinder block will have to be disassembled. Also it is a good idea to coat all parts with oil prior to installing the new pump.

Scavenger Oil Pump

1) Remove the engine from the frame
2) Remove the engine read cover
3) Remove the clutch outer housing
4) Remove the bolts holding the oil pump to the cylinder block and remove the pump

NOTE: Both of these pumps can be rebuilt with fairly easy and it's considerably less expensive to do so.

I'M TRYING TO CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION OIL AND CAN'T FIND THE DRAIN PLUG. CAN YOU HELP? Also a went to a bike shop who sold me gear oil GL-5 80/90W. It doesn't look or smell the same. Can you tell me if...

I don't know about the Hyosung, but most motorcycles, motor oil is the tranny oil, same thing. To drain the tranny, you drain the engine. My bike has a dry clutch, so it doesn't have any gear oil. But my Harley was different, it had 90 weight in the gear box and also had a dripper on the chain that would drop motor oil on the chain every couple minutes. Most people never change the gear oil. Most cars go for life without changing it. If you had a shaft drive rear end, it would be full of gear oil, Check it out. Hope this helps.

Does my 1983 suzuki 230 shaft four wheeler take transmission oil

yes it does take fluids, 10 weight 30 in rear end about half a liter and like 2 liters in the bottom end of the engne. to put the oil in the rear the screws on the top and take out bottom if u dont lubricate this, you will mess up your whole drive shaft and it will just slip

I need to kniow what type of oil to use in my 2001

Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell. If in a hot area like Texas or New Mexico go with 20w50.

Lubrication: Wet sump, 3.7 qt A “very helpful” rating on this answer? Thanks!

Compression ratio: 9.0 :1 Carburetion: Digital Fuel Injection, two 36mm throats
Minimum fuel grade: 90 octane Valve arrangement: SOHC, 4 valves per cylinder
Type: Liquid-cooled 50-degree V-twin Transmission: Wet clutch, 5 speeds
Displacement, bore x stroke: 1470cc Final drive: Shaft, 2.619:1

Troy Built 4-cycle engine Trimmer

there should be a label stating the oil type somewhere on the engine or cap or owners manual, if not most manufacturers recomend a 30 weight oil. be sure to drain out the old stuff first.
