Screw it in until it gently seats. Now back it out one and one half turns. Do the same thing for the idle screw.

Replace the pilot and main jets then really clean the carbs soak them in a good carb cleaner. When you re assemble the carbs make sure you have the air screws turned all the way in then one full turn out start from that setting.

Got a sachs roadster 125 not been used for two years got it going but revs not constant go high and low so it cuts out and when it is contant if u try and use the throtle it cuts out any ideas?

timing could be out and you could be getting to much fuel to air and the the fuel is not burning of when it is running put your hand over the exhaust then smell it if it smells of petrol you got to much fuel going in you can adjust a screw on the carb to fix it. also check your air filters and air pipes are clear of dirt

80 xs 650 hesitation and exhaust "popping"

Most likely the carbs need cleaning and adjusting. You may want to richen the A/F ratio when you do it. They are set really lean from the factory. I would go 1/4-1/2 turn out on the A/F screw.

Setting carbs and setting valves

around that year , yamaha used small disks(no screw adjustment) for valve adjustments, so you measured the free play and bought new ones according to the set up is just a few 0.001" of an inch at tdc
