Before looking for a different engine, I would take the original one out and take off the head. Check to see if the valve damaged the piston and if everything is good, have a valve job done and put it back together. It should be cheaper than trying to put in a different motor. Hope it helped.

How do I install the fairing on a 99 Vulcan 1500 classic?

I've had several Vulcans, and they were never designed to be fitted with a complete fairing. Fitting a specific windscreen and engine bars is as far as any rider went with our group. Leg shields could then be attached to the engine bars is you really wanted them, usually made from weatherproof leather.

1998 kawasaki 1500 vulcan slave clutch bleeder valve

The clutch bleeder is behind the left engine cover, you will have to remove the left exhaust from the head and also the left front foot peg in order to get it off should be about 5 bolts holding engine cover on dont worry its just a cover no oil leakage from that side, then it will be down just above the frame, it will have clutch hose going to it.. to Bleed it remove cap on leftside handle bar make sure fluid level is 3/4 fulll hold clutch lever in then open valve, let air out then close valve release clutch lever, should fix if not repeat bleeding until you have good pressure on clutch lever, dont let fluild get to low . once pressure is good refill and put cap back on. put bike back togather and RIDE good luck

2001 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 valve adjustment

Hi, Michell this engine has an overhead camshaft that uses shims to adjust valve clearance it has no hydraulic lifters that self-prime, for this scenario you will need your service, parts fiche, and owners manual if you can't find the best tool you ever bought for your Kawasaki, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one. Im about to buy a 2009 kaw vulcan 500 and #1it needs a battery and #2 Ive forgotton how to ride (shift gears) and #3 im not sure what model it is

Batteries are easy and cheap to come by. 40-60$.
Shifting:
Starting from bottom to top shifting goes as follows: 1-N-2-3-4-5-6. Just pull in the clutch before you shift and release afterwards. Remember to release slowly when you are first accelrating from a stop.
Vulcans are great beginners bikes. 500cc is perfect to learn on and the Vulcan is very user friendly. Easy to start up and get going even when its cold, comfortable riding position, and strong enough to make freeway riding enjoyable. For a used 2009 i wouldn'tpay more than $3500 in good condition

Hi, I just picked up an '02 Kaw Meanstreak 1500 with 17,000 miles. It runs great. The owner claimed the bike had been running dino lube in it from the get go. I am not sure if I should run 20/50 or...

Hi, Boulevardrid 20/50 is for moderate to hot weather riding 10/40 is for moderate to cold weather riding and yes to the Mobil 1 the oil Gods claim synthetic oil is better than dino oil I run full synthetic in my bikes and cars.
For this situation, I would call or visit my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry.

Rough ride due to skinny shallow front tire. What is the largest tire that I can put on that wheel. I am willing to put a bigger fender on the bike in order to make a bigger tire fit.

the stock vulcan 800a comes with a 80/90-21, the first number is the width in mm, and the second number is the side wall ratio compared to height, the third number is the rim size. ex. the tire is 80mm wide and 90% as tall or 72mm on a 21" rim. So if you are going wider I would measure the distance between the forks in mm and go from there.

18.5 B&S Intek single head OHV will 15 horse head fit ?

The valves on the bigger engine, will be larger.
Therefore changing the head off the smaller engine, may cause minor aspiration problems.
But if it's an 'OLD' engine, it probably won't care.
Off you go.
Good luck with that.

1992 kawasaki Vulcan 750 stops running

Drain gas into container. Pull off your petcock and clean all the junk out (will look like coffee grounds). Look inside your tank for rust and scale, then clean it out thorougly.A small chain dropped inside works wonders for knocking **** loose inside that you can't see or reach. Check for an inline fuel filter between tank and carbs and replace if you have one. Reassemble and put in fresh Premium gas....Good luck to you friend....Tim
