Thanks for the response, but I see no lever or switch of any kind. There must be something keeping the other 2.5 gallons from being used? Maybe under the tank? I just don't understand!
And likely unless you take the tank off, which is a little tricky, you won't see the fuel parts. With the bike being fuel injected it has quick connect safety connections. One connects the fuel rail , for the throttle body injection, to the tank. Another connection is made at what you would think of as the petcock. It feeds the electric fuel pump and then on to the fuel rail I mentioned earlier.This also comes out of fuel tank. Giving you two fuel connections on underside of tank. A feed and a return. And the fuel gauge sending unit wire. Compaired to todays fuel injection this system is kind of hokey but when new ,it was the cats meow. Figure ,it came out with 1507cc's to at the time Harley's 1450. It had FI and the Harley's had carbs. In it's day they were quite advanced.

Where does the gas line from the tank connect? Surely there is a valve that turns the gas on and off on it at that junction.
