99 victory no petcock or any visible lever

Thanks for the response, but I see no lever or switch of any kind. There must be something keeping the other 2.5 gallons from being used? Maybe under the tank? I just don't understand!

Where does the gas line from the tank connect? Surely there is a valve that turns the gas on and off on it at that junction.

And likely unless you take the tank off, which is a little tricky, you won't see the fuel parts. With the bike being fuel injected it has quick connect safety connections. One connects the fuel rail , for the throttle body injection, to the tank. Another connection is made at what you would think of as the petcock. It feeds the electric fuel pump and then on to the fuel rail I mentioned earlier. This also comes out of fuel tank. Giving you two fuel connections on underside of tank. A feed and a return. And the fuel gauge sending unit wire. Compaired to todays fuel injection this system is kind of hokey but when new ,it was the cats meow. Figure ,it came out with 1507cc's to at the time Harley's 1450. It had FI and the Harley's had carbs. In it's day they were quite advanced.

I'm trying to fix a pride victory twin it flashes 5 times

NEVER EVER Bypass stuff. They are there for a reason and it is normally safety!

? ? ? ? ? (5) The manual freewheel lever is in the (forward) freewheel position. Remove the key from the key switch, then push the manual freewheel lever to the drive (rearward) position and restart your scooter

What kind of oil for a 1999 victory?

Highly recommend Victory brand Semi-Synthetic 20W-40 motor oil. Equivalent oils are allowed, but for the price difference, I take comfort in knowing that if something oil related fails, Victory will be much more inclined to participate in any repair if their oil is in the crankcase. FWIW.

Which is the correct position of the on and off and reserve location on an 2001 harley sportster? I ran out of gas and need to know which way to turn for the reserve tank?

If you look closely at the petcock, you will see ON and RES printed on the ring around the petcock and an arrow on the lever. Point the arrow at the position you want. Otherwise, you'll have to take the petcock out and determine which is which. The petcock will have screen with a tube in it. When the lever is in a postition where air blown through hose nipple comes out of the tube, this is the "ON" position. When the fuel comes below the top of the tube, the engine runs out of fuel and you have to switch the lever so that fuel is taken in from the lower inlet.

Good Luck

I have a 2000 Victory V92 Classic Cruiser and I have gone through 3 clutch cables in the last 6 months. The clutch cable before that only lasted a year. It is currently at the dealership for another cable....

Common problem with the vics.Is it breaking at the clutch lever(hand) . You should check for any sharp edge that is contacting the cable when operated. the barrel on the cable should move freely in the clutch lever. Any binding will cause the cable to bend instead of turn and fail prematurely. Sand or file to remove any sharp edge and or allow the barrel to rotate. Keep well lubricated with grease.

Is there a fuel reserve on a 99 victory

If it has a fuel petcock under the tank to shut the gas off, then when you turn it straight down it should be in reserve.

Starting problems

Got gas? Is it turned on? ( Loose the Ethanol gas if you have it ).
Do you have spark? Have you checked fuses? How many miles on those old spark plugs? Have you drained the carbs and fuel petcock water trap to remove any water in the system? Kill switch is not turned on is it? OIl OK in the gearbox?
....
Check all that stuff and you will probably be riding soon. Please rate this solution after all is done. Thanks.
