Theres 2 lights flashing above the tempeture gage

Check your owner's manual but they are probably indicating that the engine is badly overheating and the battery is either dead or not charging. You need to stop the engine NOW and determine the problem. A likely cause is a broken serpentine belt which will cause the engine to overheat (no water pump) and the battery to go dead (no alternator charging).

What could be causing my van to pull so much power

First of all, is alternator charging the battery. Battery voltage when engine is off, should be at least 12.6 or better at battery posts.less than 12.4 with engine off. Battery is going bad. When engine is running at battery should be at least 13.8 to 14.2 or more if alternator is charging. You can go to any auto parts store, and get the charging system checked for free Advanced auto, Auto-zone, ETC, Good-Day! if battery and alternator are good. Heres how to check for a current drain. Disconnect negative terminal from battery, Hook a test light to the negative cable. connect opposite end of test light to battery negative post . wait at least 5 minutes, with test light hooked up. if light is on. Then start pulling fuses in fuse box, when the light goes out. thats the problem circuit.

Battery light

Charging system needs to be checked. Belt, belt tentioner, alternator, battery connections or wiring could be causing your problem. Check with volt meter, not running approximately 12.5v at battery , start engine, should have approximately 13.5- 14.5v if charging.

Battery going dead. shows check engine light

If you battery is going dead and the check engine light is on then you alternator is going out. Heres what to do, replace the battery and have the charging system check by a local repair shop. If you alternator is bad it will cause the battery to go bad as well, so testing the vehicle with a dead battery will not bring back any accurate results. An altornator is in charge of keeping you'r battery charged to sustain enough power for you vehicle. If you replace the battery and the problem persist, then you have a short or current draw in the system causing the battery to drain. If thats the case go and see a specialist and have them do an electrical diagnosis.

Hope this Helps!

First thing I wold check it the Battery and all Grounds. If the battery looses charge this can cause all kinds of issues. If the stator stops charging then you can only ride till the battery looses its charge. Check Battery, Grounds, Battery Cables, Regulator Rectifier and Stator.

Hello your battery light is an indication battery is not being charge cause your alternator , will cause the battery light check the belt is it is on and good boost and use a volt meter you should have 12.7 volts up to 13.79 if lower witch i strongly suspect you will need to change alternator and your battery all you can do is charge it and see if it will hold a charge when a alternator does what yours did it usually finishes the battery.Your check engine light you will need to have a OBD2 Scan completed to retrieve the engine fault to properly repair most garages charge $25.00 and up.
