Hi, Eshwar for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. For more information about your issue please visit the website below. Good luck and have a nice day.

2002chevy Impala how much is a head gasket kit cost and the cheapest place to go buy it

Set costs about $150 to $170. Price match and tell them you don't want to pay that much for it. They will come down.

Blown head gasket

Well it would really depend on the condition of your engine.
It would take more labor to repair your engine than it would to just replace it. But unless the engine is very damaged it should be cheaper to have your engine fixed. And replacing the head gasket and having the head repaired should be under the price you were given. A head gasket set for a 4 cyl engine is around $100 wholesale.
I would call around and check with other shops next.

I THINK I HAVE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET IN MY 00 GRAND VITARA SUV, IT OVERHEAT AND SHUTS OFF ALSO HAVE TWO OIL LEAKS. IS IT REPAIRABLE OR SHOULD I BUY A USED MOTOR

Hi,

Yes this is reparable both the head-gasket and the oil leaks.

Just price up the cost of a second hand motor and the repairs of the head-gasket and oil leaks.

Go with the cheapest.

Thanks

What is the average cost to repair a blown head gasket on a 1999 Ford Expedition having a 4.6 liter engine?

if you do it yourself, the gasket it probably like 50, intake gasket 30 , plus new head bolts, anywhere from 5-10 dollars each. if the head needs resurfacing its like 50, plus valve job is 140, --

the average, if you do it your self is about 500-

now if you have block damage, or severe head damage, that cost will go up significantly, and i dont know why you are replacing your head gasket or i could help you out with the price better.. leave a comment and i will answer your questions if you want.

if you take it to a dealer, it will be anywhere from 1500average to 3000 and up for significant damage..

why are you replacing head gasket?

My 2000 Daewoo Nubira CDX has either blown a gasket or head. I am finding it difficult to purchase another motor. Which would be the best option repair the head or gasket or get a whole new motor? All 3...

Repairing the gasket is easy and relatively cheap - 250€.
Repairing a cracked head - 300€ to 700€ depending on the damage
Replacing the engine is prohibitively expensive - 2000€
Prices in Romania , where this car was manufactured. Importing a new engine to NZ will make it even bigger.

Well i want to buy this car. but The only issue with it is the head gasket is popped or the radiator needs replaced so the car over-heats after about 5 miles ? can i repair it ? how much you think it will...

First you need to determine if it's the head gasket or the radiator, as the cost and labor involved is very different. Is the oil or antifreeze contaminated? If so, most likely its the head gasket. Keep in mind also that if the head gasket failed and the car overheated, the cylinder head may be warped or even cracked. After removing the head, take it to a machine shop and have it checked. As far as cost goes, it depends on whether you do it or not. A head gasket set will probably run you around 50 - 75 dollars, and figure 150 - 200 for the machine shop to check it. These are very round figures, and you might want to call a couple of parts stores to get prices for the gasket set, and call a machine shop and ask them what they're charging to clean and inspect an overheated head.

My valves are bent on my 93 Geo Storm. How much to replace?

For a price you will need to call a repair shop. Yes, the head gasket will need replacement, you are going to have the head off, It may cost more than the car is worth.

Head gasket blown. What is approximate cost to

    Considerations
  1. Many internal engine problems, such as a blown head gasket, cracked head or cracked piston, can be repaired without having to replace an entire engine.
  2. Potential
  3. While taking the time to replace an engine may seem labor-intensive and costly, it will add years to a vehicle's life and will save a car owner from the cost of having to buy a new car.
  4. Benefits
  5. Taking a car to a mechanic and replacing an engine with a used engine can cost between $1,000 to $2,000 for parts and labor.
  6. Solution
  7. Car owners interested in replacing their engines with new ones can expect to pay anywhere between $2,000 to $4,000.
  8. Speculation
  9. For those interested in doing the engine replacement themselves, purchasing specialized tools needed for the job is a cost to consider in addition to the price of a replacement engine.

1998 nissan Altima blown head gasket repair price

It's really hard to tell how much it will cost to fix this because you don't know how much damage has been done to the engine itself because of the blown head gasket. Assuming you caught it early and there is no damage to the engine, you are looking somewhere between $1100 - $1400. A website you can look at that gives you prices for repair estimates is http://www.repairpal.com. Thanks for rating my response but please let me know if you have any more questions before deciding you give a poor rating. Thanks for using FixYa!

Cost will probably be around $300.00. Call a dealer and they can tell you exactly. Most of them have standard price lists for standard repairs.
