Hi, Mike if you have a CKP sensor it needs compression to send the correct signal to the ICM/ECM, make sure both spark plugs are in heads and use a grounded third plug to check for spark or hold spark plug cable close to spark plug in the head. If still not getting spark the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
3. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
4. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting / leaking, spark plug cable connections loose.
5. Faulty ignition coil or ignition / electronic module
6. Failed CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
7. Faulty ignition switch.
8. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

Chevy S10 4.3L Vortex I have already replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, spark plus. But it is still not firing up. It cranked up yesterday just fine, went to haul of the trash...

Got a 85 toyota pickup..will not start..replaced coil, brain box, and all fuses...still no fire from the coil?

Not sue what you mean by brain box. You may need to replace the ICM the Ignition Control Module that sits right below the coil. Mine cost almost $300 locally, but found them online for less then $100. When mine went out in my 1985 Toyota pickup I was doing about 45 MPH and it was just like someone turn the key off., dead, no spark nothing. I ran the troublesooting steps in my repair manual and found it was dead.

On a 1987 sporster not sure what to officially call it but I was told it was the brain box and where can I find one cheap

On an '87 Sportster, the only "brain box" or "black box" is the ignition unit. If yours is bad, you may be able to get one from a H-D dealer but it ain't cheap and they will not take if back if this turns out not to be the problem. Have you checked to see if your bike has any spark to the spark plugs? The only thing that this box does is contol the ignition timing. It does not generate the spark, the coil does that. If you don't have any any spark, first check to make sure you've got voltage to the coil. Disconnect the small wires from the coil and position them so that they are not touching anything. Turn the ignition on and check that one of them has battery voltage to it. If it does, turn off the ignition switch. Now, using an ohm meter, check the resistance on the primary winding of the coil. Put the meter in R X 1 scale and connect one lead to each of the small terminals on the coil. You should read between 3 and 5 ohms. If you read much more or less than this, your coil may be bad. Another way to check the coil is to connect the "hot" wire to one end of the coil. Make up a temporary jumper wire by stripping about an inch of the insulation from a piece of wire about two feet long. Connect one end of the jumper wire to the other small terminal on the coil. Turn the ignition switch on and MOMENTARILY touch the other end of the jumper wire to the frame. When you take the wire off of the frame breaking the circuit, you should see a spark on the spark plugs. If you do not, make sure you're getting a good circuit and try it again. If you still don't get a spark, your coil is bad. If the coil checks out good, you may have a bad sensor in the timer cavity of the engine. This part is much less expensive than the "brain box". There is no way to test the sensor that I know of. You'll just have to replace it. Make sure you mark the plate and the inside of the timer cavity in such a manner so that you can get the new sensor plate back in the cavity in EXACTLY the same position as the old one was in there. I hope this helps.

If you check and test the coil, cap/rotor,distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module the only one left is the brain box (ECM - Engine Control Module)

I caint get spark out of the coil. i have replaced it and the that brain box on the other inspected the wires and none seem to be damaged still no spark

is there power to the coil when ignition switch is on? If L-6 motor check position sensor at top of bell housing at firewall, common problem on these, Distributor components?

No firing contact to the spark plugs. Have already replaced brain box, coil pack an cam and crank sensors. Any suggestions?

Two things.
1. does your car have three seperate coils ontop of a module or is it all one piece? If it is the seperate coils you might wanna change the module that they mount to.
2. If its the all in one (magnavox) coil and you are sure all the parts you replaced are in working order then you might wanna have the timing chain checked. It may have broken and if the cam isn't turning you wont get spark.
