Black smoke usually means the car is running too rich. disconnect the Oxygen sensors and see if it get better; repair or replace the sensors it that works. If not it is likely you have a stuck injector.

Stuck Choke probably if it is black smoke or it could be a stuck carb float, black smoke usually indicates way to much fuel

Dark smoke and do not acelerate but the motor work ,Kia sorento 2007 diesel


Dark grey/black smoke is excess fuel/ poor combustion. Get a garage to check the turbo function but you don't say how many miles its done so it may need an engine service including things like the emissions control valves etc.

Hi there.
well when you throttle up to about 2000rpm do you get blue smoke coming out the exhaust.When driving on flat road will it power up as normal with out missing or getting hot.
what colour was the old spark plugs were they black or light brown.
When you start engine and run for 3 minutes then let it idle and remove oil filler cap do you get smoke coming out.
Number 1 if yes then engine is lacking power due to piston rings worn answer rebuild engine.
Number2 spark plugs brown [good] if black soot as num1.
Number 3 if you get black smoke or blue ,then the engine is lacking compression could be your problem as num1
OTHER WISE GET YOUR TIMING CHECKED AND SET TO BOOK.

Hi! You may have a faulty ECU (engine control unit). The ECU controls the air and fuel ratio, if its faulty it can really emits black smoke. Hope this helps and good luck!

White smoke on start up. A) The way it goes is whitish blue smoke your burning oil.
B) Whitish grey smoke your burning coolant ( coolant leaking in cylinder) Coolant resovoir should be milky substance.

black smoke from exhaust means a rich oil/fuel ratio, sometimes it causes by a clogged air filter or a problem on fuel injection system.
