SOURCE: oil shooting in to the air box

Hello,
From your brief description I'm guessing a high mileage machine? or Previous owners have revved too much from cold?
It sounds like the engine is possibly breathing? the pistons and compression rings are worn so exhaust gasses and compression leaks past them and pressurizes the crank case sending oil out the breather, so the air filter draws it in.
If the bike is performing o.k. and you can live with it try a dribble/breather can? pop the vent pipe into a seperate container to catch it. Make sure you seal the hole in the air filter so contaminents can't get in. also the new breather needs air circulation so trial and error on a recepticle.
Good Luck!

I bought a 92 fzr 600 ride it for a month no problem. But now it keeps popping the resistor in the spark plugs. 3 sets of plugs in the last 2 weeks. Last set lasted 2 days. All have been ngk.

NGK plugs dont stop, especially all at once, so there is another problem.
There are some resisters in the plug caps that can fail.
Are the plugs carbon fouling?(dry black) if so make sure the air filter is new, and oil is changed.
Does the enginge blow smoke or use oil?(wet black)oil fouled may mean rings.
Fuel fouled may mean the jettting is wrong or choke stuck open
Its the battery good(new) and charging ,put a multi meter across the terminals 12v stopped, 14v running approx.
it always helps to drain the carb bowls every few weeks
If exhaust is not standard, the jetting may be wrong.
does the fuel tap work correctly? only use the run or res positions never pri
A short in the kill switch or a worn ignition switch can cause a miss or backfire

Havent started my fzr1000 in five years. any suggestions?

Change the oil first up as their is a good chance condensation has occurred and put water in to the oil. Drain the fuel from both the tank and carburettor, as this would have gone stale. Change battery or jump start if required. Remove the spark plugs and inspect, replace if looks suspect. With the spark plugs out, crank the engine over a few times. (ensure oil level correct) If it winds over all good, put a few drops off oil in the cylinders. This will help build compression. Re-fit spark plugs, Full choke and give it a shot. Away it should go! Aerostart or ether may come in handy.
Good luck!
