Front end rotation noise

It should have been thoroughly checked. Noises like these on four wheel drives could several different things. A bearing, CV axle, or the differential, or bearings in the differential. A wheel bearing will make different sounds when making a turn. A CV axle is a constant sound. Differential bearings can come and go, depending on if it is a bearing for the axle or a pinion bearing. Axle side bearings usually make a constant noise. The differential can also come and go. Depends on acceleration or slowing down. All these sounds are also with a vibration. Slight to harsh.

2003 Chevy Silverado is making a clunking noise, on and off sometime over bumps. Also a deep grinding type noise in the same location while driving not constant

Hello Karla,

It sounds like you may have a bearing or CV joint going out. Your vehicle will need to be jacked up and inspected. It may be more than one problem too. Its possible the dragging noise could be something between brake pads and rotor, but the grinding that comes and goes in reference to direction sounds like a bearing or joint. I would take it to a professional right away and ask for an estimate only, and then get other estimates from other shops as well. Good luck to you.

I was wondering on a alero 99 , i replaced the brakes and a caliper and fixed my brake lines but my abs light is on but it sounds like a airplain when u drive their is no shaking or grinding in the front...

YEP BAD WHEEL BEARING WILL MAKE A ROARING LIKE NOISE WHILE IN MOTION.BAD WHEEL COULD PUT DRAG ON WHEEL WHICH CAUSE ABS LIGHT TO COME ON.YOUR WHEEL BEARING HAS THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR BUILT INTO IT.SO IF WHEEL BEARING BAD THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR PART OF ABS BRAKE SYSTEM WILL CAUSE ABS LIGHT TO COME ON IF WHEEL BEARING BAD.MAKE SURE FRONT BRAKE PADS INSTALLED CORRECTLY IF NOT. YOU WILL GET TERRIBLE WHEEL NOISE ALSO.

Sound is coming from rear wheels Tyre Changed but sound coming

If its like a dragging noise, constantly, it could be your hubs. If it is shaking and stuff, get it checked, Your wheel might be loose. Very dangerous.

99 Discovery 2 I have replaced the shocks, steering drag link and

The ball joints probably have gone, what you have to do ,lift the front of the vehicle, like you are taking out the front wheel ,after having lifted the vehicle by a jack, now the wheel with your two hands, then do different movement with the wheel,if the ball joint has gone you will sure hear a noise and see a free play to the wheel.Do this action for the two front wheels.
