When the bike is level and at average working temp with the motor turned off the oil level should be at the half way mark .

What to do when 2006 Chrysler Pacifica engine temp warning light comes on?

Do not continue to operate. Operating an overheated engine will cause the engine to fail.

After the engine has cooled,
Confirm that the engine has coolant.
Confirm that the reservoir is full to the mark
Start engine and confirm as engine gets warm cooling fan at radiator turns on

Confirm that the rubber engine belt is working
Put in car heater to full hot and blower on.
Confirm heat is hot from car heater.
If heater is not hot possible water pump failure or air in coolant system keeping the coolant from circulating.
Allow to cool completely.
Remove cap start engine and observe coolant flowing at or near cap. Observe bubbling or exhaust gases coming from radiator

Check for water in oil by pulling dip stick
  • White smoke from the exhaust pipe
  • Overheating engine
  • Bubbles in the radiator or coolant overflow tank
  • White milky oil
  • Significant loss of coolant with no visible leaks
If milky likely a blown head gasket

Hope this helps?

No oil movement in bubble on top of machine

ead the needle raise the presser ft and stomp the power foot down, now check the bubble when the machine is running full tilt. when the machine is running slow you will not see the oil flow. also ck the screen on the oil uptake under machine for dirt.

07 sonata coolant leaveing but theres no leaek

check motor oil for bubbles to make sure u haven't coolant in motor which is usually caused by a blown head gasket...start car with coolant full and radiator cap off...look inside with a flashlight for any bubbles...this would definitely indicate a leak somewhere in head gasket...also chek all sending units that fit into water jacker such as the coolant sending unit...

I am looking to buy a Mercedes GL 500, model 2009. One of checks a friend of mine does before buying a second hand car is to start the engine and then open the hood and remove the oil cap, according to him...

oil bubbles ? oil splashes under valve covers across the valve train opening the valve cap may get oil splash-- but oil bubbles oil may foam a bit from being old or if coolant got in it and wouldnt bubble out of cap but bubbles --- and oil splash is normal when opening oil cap with vehicle running

Yamaha dt 125 red oil light has just started to come on,oil through small round window looks half full..is this right...

Yes , time to top up the oil, Yamaha just want to give you plenty of notice, cause nothing will destroy the engine quicker than running out. I would be topping it up as soon as you see a bubble in the window.

Hi the bubbles have stopped working on the right side, what can i do to resolve ?

If both bubble tubes has stopped working on one side then the problem is more likely to be a power issue. Somehow the power is not getting to the tube heaters. On the Wurlitzer OMT there is a small module on the inside of the main door that distributes the power to the various bubble tubes and the page turner (CD models). If the plug is loose or the wire is broken then that could cause one side to be off.

How to read the engine oil dipstick on a 2008 Honda Civic

As long as it's within the XXXX's on the dipstick, your car is fine! If it drops below the XXXX's, then add some oil. The XXXX's on the dipstick represent 1 quart of oil. You want to keep it in the XXXX's range on the dipstick. Also, check your oil when the car is parked on an even surface and the engine has not been running for at least 10 minutes. This is to make sure the oil has dripped from the engine back down into the oil pan, where it is being measured, and that the oil is even in the oil pan.
