Starting problem I've got a 1995 Virago. when I try to start it, it cranks but it also makes a loud poping sound and it wont start. I replaced the battery, checked the fuses and got the starter checked. the guy said the starter was fine. any ideas?

Your camshaft is out of time with the crankshaft allowing the valves to stay open when they should be closed causing the popping sound

there should be marks on the chain/belt; and, the sprockets usually dots or triangle marks

Then just line the belt/chain marks up with the sprocket marks and, you will be in time

you want the #1 piston all the way up and both valves closed to set the spark the first time the engine starts

WHAT CAUSES LOUD GRINDING SOUND WHEN TRYING TO CRANK MY 1990 FORD F150 WHEN IN PARK?

Check and make sure the bell housing on the transmission isn't broke and trying to separate from the engine. Shifter shouldn't move while cranking unless transmission itself is moving.

Vizio model vx322 hdtv10a is losing sound and makes a loud humming noise and a poping sound every few minutes

Good day!!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

1995 chevy lumina makes terible loud noise like rods knocking when started. It has oil and water in it. what could be the problem?

it could still be a rod even if its full of oil. carbon build up inside the engine can cause a knocking sound but its probably a rod. does it go away after it starts?? if it only does it while starting, it could be leaking water in a cylinder after you cut it off and the next time you're cranking it, its trying to compress the water

I have had problems with truck starting

When it wont crank, tap on the starter with a hammer, wrench ect. if it starts then, most likely need the starter replaced. If it grunts, its getting power. Make sure the battery is good. to check, take a voltage reading should be 12.7 volts on a fully charged battery, take a reading when starting, should not go below 10volts.

1990 Virago starting problem

These starters work Likrk by binding a roller which grips the crank shft end to rotate it.. If either the roller or the crank end surface wear too much, the starter will turn without grabbing or slip entirely not cranking over the engine.. Repair soon or serious damage can result.
