Probably. I would remove the battery and take it to a local auto-parts store to have it load tested, or at least test it with a hydrometer after you think it is fully charged. Test methods here.

I believe i have a weak battery on my car when i tried starting the car after it had sat a month it was dead. I boosted it and it started and run fine. I bought a trickle charger and put it on the battery....

1. You possibly have a dead cell in the battery or a loose ground.
2. check your battery also for corrosion are the post.
3. Take you battery to a checker, Auto zone,or other auto parts place that can check the battery for you and tell whether the battery needs replacement.
4. if the battery is 4 yrs old or more it more than likely has lost it's ability to take a charge.
5. Also check the alternator> if the alternator has gone bad the battery will not be charged.
6. If a car has set for more than a week without starting or running it for 30 minute to an hour it will deteriorate.

The charger shouldn't have hurt the battery but corrosion is caused by fumes from the battery being charged or used. If you know the cable ends are clear, the battery probably has a dead cell and will need replaced. Most parts stores will do a load test on the battery for free.

sounds like the battery doesn't have enough power.
Battery may be bad, or your charging system is bad.
If the bike was sitting for a while not being ridden (longer than 3 weeks) then the battery is probably dead.
go to a local powersports shop and ask them about a "trickle charger" this is what you plug the bike into when you park the bike for a long time like the winter. You can dfind a cheap charger for about $20. It has to be a trickle charger not a regular battery charger otherwise it could overcharge and the battery could explode or even catch fire. This will keep your battery from dieing everytime you park the bike for an extended period of time.

I have a kaw vulcan 900 classic and was trying to jump my friends shadow when my bike died and now, when i turn the key, it's dead. no lights, nothing.

Check your main fuse. Also check battery terminals, make sure they are clean and tight. Make sure your battery is fully charged, ie. 13.2v min.

2007 Vue hybrid. 12-volt battery dead? No electric key opening, lights, starting, etc. Can I try to trickle charge it? We;ve been away a week, but it has been sitting in a garage above 50 degrees.

If the battery is completely dead a trickle charge won't do much. These are designed to keep a good battery good. You need a regular battery charger set to 10 amps for a couple hours then 2 amps overnight. Be aware that sometimes if your battery has been completely killed it may not work for long, that is your car will start but within a few days or hours it will leave you stranded. You'll know because it will drag when you try to start it. Sometimes you get lucky and it works great for years.

Next time do use a trickle charger! Also if the charge you use is automatic then you can leave it hooked up in 2 amp mode when you are gone. Good luck!

Won't start

Neither. You have a dead battery. Replace it, and when you store it for the winter get a smart trickle charger and keep your new battery charged over the winter.
