SOURCE: engine oil in yz 250

all the yz250 needs is the pre-mix two stroke oil that you mix in with the fuel and also the transmission oil. the transmission oil goes in the filler cap which is located on the engine next to the kickstart on my 2002 yz250. this is for two strokes only. hope this helps

Engin oil burnning

if its a 4 stroke engine then you have piston ring or valve seal or head gasket problem ! compression test 100 psi or more ! remove exhaust and pressure test piston and put some oil in exhaust port on valves with piston at top dead centre and look for bubbles and air leaking past valves , and listen for air passing into crank case which tells you if rings are leaking ( put oil on top of piston to cover the top ring the second time you test this to see if better seal on rings ) !

I had my head ported out and now it leaks oil out where my exhaust mounts to the head is it safe to run my bike like that

It is not normal, The oil is coming from the engine lubrication system and it sounds as if you have not renewed the rocker cover gasket when the engine was rebuilt. Check the torque settings on the head bolts and that no oil is getting into the coolant.

Im trying to sort a friends 2002 rs125 that is completely powerless , it will not even pull up a 1 inch dropped kerb unless revved to half throttle , airfilter and exhaust are standard , jets are clean ,...

Not familiar with Aprilia but have 40 years on 2 and 4 stroke engines. Start with removing the exhaust system. If it is plugged up with mud the engine can't breath. The chamber may have an internal collapse as opposed to plugged up with mud. With the exhaust removed, check the exhaust port. It may be carboned up thus plugging the cylinder exhaust. I repaired a Yamaha 80 with that problem once. The port had gone from 1" x 1.5" down to the size of a pencil eraser. Be sure the gas is good and gas/oil ratio is correct. Is the head on tight; bad head gasket, water leaks? When was the last time the crank seals were changed? Needed crank chamber pressure may be getting past bad crank seals. Standard air filter, but is it clean so air can pass through? Check the ignition timing. Find the problem then rate my answer :-)

My pw 80 has white smoke coming out of the exhaust

Yes a pw 80 is a two stroke engine, it uses two stroke oil to lubricate the engine, it enters by means of the inlet, mixed with the fuel and air, then once ignited it attomises to form a mist and lubricates the internals of the engine, the lubrication system of a two stroke is known as a total waste system, the oil goes in, lubricates, and leavs in the form of smoke, the smoke will be more noticable when the choke is applied, the problem would be severe if no smoke was visible, exsess smoke may suggest the exhaust, port, or silencer needs de cokeing, this would require removal of the exhaust and manualy remove obstructions, loss of power could be associated with this, good luck paul

I have a 1996 Yamaha yz80 that oil is coming out the exhaust pipe. I am running 40 to 1 ratio gas oil mixture. Any ideas what may be the problem?

Two strokes just leak oil especially where the pipe meets the motor you could try new oring but seriously only be worried if you dont have oil leaking from exhaust on a two stroke is rule of thumb

Oil is leaking into cylinder, and running out the exhaust

sounds like the power valve seal is leaking where it goes into the cylinder from the side case.

Oil leak by exhaust pipe

I am not personally familiar with a 1975 DT250, but here is a general overview. If the bike is a 4 stroke, the oil you observed could have been from the exhaust, however it is more likely that it is from a leaky valve cover gasket or a head gasket. If the bike is a 2 stroke, the "oil" is from the exhaust (expansion chamber). It is excess 2 stroke oil that accumulates. You should reduce the mix to 32:1 or even 40:1 and replace the oring gasket in the opening of the pipe. If in a pinch you can use high temp silicone, but not a good way to go.
best wishes!
