Kx 125 are notorious for having bad stators,so bearing in mind your engine has compression, clean air filter, and clean carb do the following, check that your spark plug have a good healthy spark,if the spark is irregular and weak that's the sign of faulty stator, open up the stator cover see if there is no moisture another sign that stator might be faulty. The stator problem is pain, because after putting fresh new spark plug the engine can start fine and you may ride for few minutes when the problem suddenly reappears, if thats what you experienced -STATOR.

Check your coil and the cdi, sounds like they may be overheating and shutting down. Also check for possible vapor lock.

Bike is starting and backfireing, cant give any gas or it will die. this is be couse of lack of gas fro secondary ?

Hi, Michael and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
2. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
3. Faulty main circuit breaker and or connections.
4. Faulty ignition coil and or connections.
5. Faulty spark plug, oil or gas fouled, wrong heat range or service type, wrong gap, loose in the cylinder head, broken electrode or insulator.
6. Faulty spark plug cables, leaking or broken, internal damage check for spark leakage in the dark.
7. Faulty ignition module, switch, CKP, MAP, CMP, sensor and or any connector in the ignition circuit could have corroded, loose, or broken pins/sockets
8. Burnt exhaust valve or air leak in the exhaust system.

Why does my Vintage Cub Cadet 125, Kohler 12HP engine pop/backfire and die when given any throttle?

Carburetor needs adjusted. May need rebuilt or just cleaned. Could be one of the jets is plugged.

I just purchased a 93 kx 125 and it wus runnig fine until i tried to open it up all of a sudden while im riding the bike just locked up nd cut off i have no idea why

is the engine locked, up will it kick over if not sounds like a sieged up piston did you mix oil and gas this bike is a 2 stroke which will require mixing oil and gas not just straight gas

Hi my mz 125 sm goes for about min and then cuts out but if you leave it for 2 mins it will start again but does the same thing. the oil light is always on but there is plenty of oil presure there ive got...

oil presure / level switch if you're sure and I mean realy sure that you have lots of oil and it is circulating ( you sound like you know what you're talking about)put a jumper across the oil presure swith and you will know you have the right ones because the oil light will go out and the bike will run

I need to know what weight oil to use in my 03 kawasaki kx 125

Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell. If in a hot area like Texas or New Mexico go with 20w50.

Use TWO STROKE ENGINE OIL in the pump. If not using an automatic oil pump, then mix the gas and oil 32 to 1. That equals 4 ounces of TWO STROKE ENGINE OIL to one gallon of gas. NEVER use motor oil in the gas. Only two stroke engine oil.

A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!

Wont start by kick start but will by pull start

sounds like your idle jet is clogged, remove your carb and clean idle jet cause it won't idle or kick start without it...good luck to you friend...Tim
