Need key code for YZF 750 yamaha cycle

I am doing this for a friend who doesn't have a handy pc. He is a locksmith and needs to know where the key code is located on a 1994 Yamaha YZF 750 R cycle. He cannot make a key for the guy without it. Thanks.

The Key code is only on a tag that comes with key set. if it was not saved or written down in manuel there is no other way to get it.

It is true that key code is on key itself but Yamaha bikes use very few different cylinders. If your friend removes the locks from his bike he can replace them with used ones from a bikewrecker or have them rekeyed as they are easy to do. If he has any of the original keys they are all the same code.

Lost the key to start the bike. How do I get a new

There should be a number/letter code stamped on the ignition switch. Write that down and go to your local Yamaha dealer for a new key. He will want proof of ownership (title) before he cuts a new key. You might also ask one of the local locksmiths to assist.
Good Luck

Need to take lock cylinder out

You must unscrew the top yoke from the front system and turn it upside down to unscrew the bolts that holds the lock on the yoke.Perhaps the bolts need a hammer and something pointy (with sharp end) cause usually they are headless and you cannot use any tool. After that you should take it to the locksmith and you should not try to disassemble the lock itself. It is very sensitive and you can easily damage it or loose something from it.

Lost my key.

i dont think so, you could contact yamaha dealer and ask if they can order you a new key from the chassis number, or remove the ignition or seat lock if you can and take it to a good locksmith to make you a key from the lock

Free Download Service Manual

I have never come across a free manual. A factory one is the way to go, but you need to be handy with tools, hot or not!
