Inspect the cable to the throttle control mechanism under the hood? All all the cables in their proper tracks? Are any cables wrapped the wrong direction, or out of the in-line track?

2001 vmax My throttle has alot of play in it, which I can adjust, but when I get the bike warm, it won't stay at an idle. The idle will creep up to about 2500 rpm. Almost like the throttle cable...

Try lubing your cables and throttle mechanism first. Do your adjustment when the bike is warm. It sounds like you're making one of the cables too tight.

Cable on top of engine broke on throttle what does it do

Replace the cable with one from your local auto parts store or dealer.
It may be for cruise control if your cruise control no longer works.
Or, it may be for the accelerator pedal.

When I press the gas pedal nothing happens until I press it like half way down then it "catches" and takes off, what could be the problem & how can I fix this? Thanks

sounds like the throttle cable is in need of adjustment, push the gas pedal down with your hand to see if it is just free play(only the return spring pressure may be felt if it is)with someone looking at the throttle body for movement.Dont do it up too tight, leave a little slack in the cable.....

Gas pedal snapped cant give it any gAS . WHAT part are needed .any pics or diagrams. how can i repair it

If it's the throttle cable, remove the end from the pedal. From under the hood disconnect the cable from the throttle body and bracket. Pull the cable out from the firewall. Most foriegn car parts stores sell them. Also check on e-Bay.

Throttle body cables are loose

is thr braket loose or just the cables. they should not be too tight, a little slack is ok,but if you step on gas pedal and throtle plate doesnt move then they are loose, some have an adjustment nut some dont, good luck,

I have trouble initially starting my MTD Yardbug mower. Once going, the engine runs great, but it seems like when the throttle lever is set to choke, it doesn't actually choke. I usually have to either...

Sounds like your throttle cable is out of adjustment (i.e. when you put the carb in choke position is doesn't actually go into choke).
