Probably the wheel cylinder is leaking, I would also check the brake

How do i replace brake fluid in 98 prism

In this situation, most likely there was a break-down in the brake system. Usually you only have one reservoir that services both front and rear brake systems. But to replace the fluid, obtain a Hayne's Repair manual. They go over brake fluid replacement.

1990 Reatta. Replaced all calipers and hoses. Cannot get fluid to rear brakes. Porportioning valve is OK. No fluid coming to it. Is there a way to cycle the master cylinder valves to cycle fluid...

I would try replaceing the master clylender and rebleed the brakes start at the right rear have some one help you press the brake paddle down and hold it open bleeder its where the brake line connects to the brakes looks like a greese fitting open the bleeder then close it let brake paddle back up repeat until you have fluid comeing out of bleeder go to the left rear do the same then right front to left front

1995 buick lesabre. brakes are gone! fluid leaking from left rear brake.

If they are drum brakes then it is most likely the wheel cylinder. these are not expensive but you will need to replace the rear brake shoes and clean all the parts with brake clean. I recomend replacing the other cylinder while your at it.

How do i bleed rear brakes on 2006 heritage classic

First, remove the top cover from the rear brake master cylinder. Check the fluid level height. Make sure you're using the correct type of brake fluid. It's written what type to use right on the reservior top cover. Do NOT allow the reservior to run dry during the brake bleeding process and be careful with the brake fluid, it can damage your paint. Check the fluid level and temporarily replace the top cover on the master cylinder by just laying it on top of the reservior.

Now, to bleed the brakes you must do the following steps in this exact sequence.
  1. Depress the rear brake pedal and hold it down
  2. Open the brake bleeder valve on the rear caliper
  3. Allow air and brake fluid to bleed out
  4. Close the bleeder valve
  5. Release the brake pedal and allow the cylinder to refill for a short time.
  6. Check fluid level
  7. Repeat if the brake pedal is not high and firm.
Good Luck
Steve

Rear brake not working on Buick Regal 2004

open the bleeder with someones foot on the pedal. If brake fluid sprays out, replace the caliper. If fluid doesn't spray out, replace the brake hose.

Brake light displays

Look at the master cylinder fluid level. If it is low, the red brake lamp will come on. Note that as the front brake pads wear, the brake fluid level will drop proportionally. If the fluid level is indeed low, you may need front brake pads, Unless you have a lot of miles on it, I doubt that you will need rear brake shoes. Also, if the fluid is low, don't add any. When you DO have to replace the pads, the additional fluid will be forced out of the cylinder and get all over your engine compartment under the master cylinder area . Brake fluid will eat the paint. Check the brake pads, replace them if the pad material is worn.
