    woah slow down....

first, no, it was not a silly question. but i did put the battery in correctly with the terminals.

Im not sure what you mean by disturbing the earth strap though. is that the strap that secures the battery in there?

if so, i didnt think that had anything to do with a connection problem. what do you mean by cleaning it?

  • lukondir May 18, 2009

i am securing both terminals with screws so they arent loose there. Maybe the negative cable came loose way up insind the bike.. I'm not sure, i will check it.

Do you think that possibly when it sparked that a fuse could have blown? If so is there a fuse that controls all the electricity on the bike. Because none of the electricity works.

Hey, my bro put the battery in wrong on my 08 model. It blew the fuse on the starter relay solenoid so I replaced and now the lights work but it still wouldn't even try to crank. I was able to bypass the solenoid and make the starter motor turn so I replaced the solenoid but to no avail.. I'm guess ignition.. any thoughts?

but wait.. I can hear the click of the solenoid when I hit the ignition.. grr, idk..

It was the simplest thing. The fuse box became unplugged when we pulled it out to check the fuses.

Hi I am Vortash .. this may seem like a silly question but I have to ask .. are you sure you connected the terminals the right way round ?. You would be amazed to how many people who text back and say oops no .. lol.. if you did then just check the earth strap if it was loose when you put the new battery on you may have disturbed it and it is not contacting properly .. clean and tighten ..regards Vortash ..

one side of the battery will go to the fuse box the red cable or + the other side will be fastened at some point to the frame ie the term Negative -- earth vehicle that means the whole frame is the negative reurn and if the connections to that frame ie ; earth are dirty then you lose much of your electrics and in the case of the battery earth terminal all of your electrics ... Vortash

hi yes there would be a main fuse follow the battery red terminal to the fuse box ,, if you have a meter check for output from the battery ...usually under the seat or next to the battery like a capsule in line with the power lead ... vortash

Changed battery and now start 2005 landrover

Well, lets start with do you know the new battery is any good? If you are certain it is fully charged try the following.

Check for correct polarity.of your new battery

Ensure that your battery connections are tightly done up. If you can move them by hand using considerable force they are no good and need to be tightened

Check the connections on the other ends of the battery leads are tight.

Check the condition of the battery leads. They must not be worn or frayed..

R6 300 batteries charging negative

If you connected the voltmeter correctly and you get a negative reading then the batteries have flipped polarity.Get an automotive battery charger...preferably a NON automatic kind and charge each battery separately. Before you take them out of the chair...run both batteries completely down. Connect the charger correctly and charge normally. It will take a longer time to charge that way because the polarity has to change back. Test the batteries again using a correctly connected voltmeter . If the reading is back to positive then you're ok. If not then trash the batteries and get new ones. Radio Shack carries the correct batteries and are much cheaper than buying them from a chair service company

Confirm that the battery is charged
Confirm that the battery is inserted facing the correct way
Confirm that the memory card/battery cover is fully closed
Dirty battery terminals reduce battery performance. Try cleaning the terminals with a cotton swab and reinserting the battery a few times.
Check if there is no debris or anything else in the battery compartment that can prevent correct contact between the battery terminals and the connection points in the camera.
Always charge NiMH batteries before using them for the first time, or if they have not been used for a long period. 3 months can be very long for NiMH batteries.
Do not use alkaline batteries unless it is absolutely necessary. In some cases, alkaline batteries may have a shorter service life than NiMH. Alkaline battery performance is limited, especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries is recommended.
Manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries should not be used.

My scooter will not fully charge

This could be the charger socket is worn and not making a good connection when charging or it could be the charger itself at fault. Now you have changed the batteries, I presume new and both the same type, you need to look at the charging side.

My nex tech binoculars will not turn turn on . Batteries are good

Was the camera dropped??

If it wasnt dropped try changing the batteries.

install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into the camera.

1. If the camera is on, turn it off.
2. If any accessories (memory card, lens, USB cable, camera or printer dock, etc.) are connected to the camera, remove/disconnect them.
3. Remove the battery/batteries from the camera.
4. Verify:
That you are using the correct battery/batteries for the camera
That the battery/batteries are correctly installed
That the battery/batteries are fresh or fully charged
Follow the battery installation and charging instructions in the camera User Guide

Got the scooter for xmas last year -- has been used approximately 5 times. SHows battery is fully charged. Will not go. Need help.

hello,,i'm not overly familiar with these but,,here goes,,,,if it is reading fully charged,,but it will not go,,,,if you have an electrical tester,,,plug the red probe into the red wire connector on the battery,,,,and the black one to the black connector on battery,,,,,just to be sure charge gauge is reading correctly,,,,,,if it is indeed fully charged,,,,now go to where you engage the power,,,,whether it be a pedal,,or a trigger on the handle bar,,,,,you will have to check all connections to be sure one has not come off,,,,or got to lose to make a connection,,,,if all looks ok there,,,,check the wires that go to the motor ,,, from the battery,,,,make sure all is secure,,,,, if it has gotten wet,,,check for any corrosion on all your electricals,,,,,,and clean ,,,,,when your doing all this,,,,,also check for a broken wire,,,,,or stripped wire,,,, hopefully these steps will put you in the right direction and back to riding,,,,, JOEL

Keeps Losing Sattelite Connection

Try making surte the battery is fully charged by AC charger, do not rely on DC plug to fully charge the unit. Also depending on age use and abuse ( starting car while connected to DC) replace the battery and you should be on your way again

Solar battery charger

Yes, but the efficiency of solar cells is terrible. Its one thing to use free sunlught to charge the cells, its another to have to pay the electric company to do it. If you can access the batteries in the solar rig easily and they are in the correct voltage range, I think you would be better off getting a battery tender (trickle charger). Just let the van sit outside until the batteries are fully charged, then connect the battery tender to keep it fully charged.
