Hi Anonymous, you could have an oil pressure sending unit going south on you or a broken or loose connection at said unit. They relatively inexpensive try replacing it. Good luck

Their are a ton of things it could be. I would start out with the ignition switch, when you turn it on does it allow power to pass through? Have you check the fuses? Is the ground tight and clean?
If the previous owner had a key fob on the key I would look hard at the ignition switch first.

If it was stored with fuel in the tank:
1. The fuel filter should be replaced
2. You may to replace the fuel delivery system coming out of the tank
3. Remove the plug in the carb and reset the idel mixture
I just bought one store for 6 years - my issue is the bike will n ot idel but runs on the road like a bat out hell.

SOURCE: Shuts off spits and sputters
Check for vacume leaks first. Rubber lines..gaskets to carbs ect. Also remove and blow out your fuel line to tank and change out filter. Hope this helps.:)

Most of the time when it goes to a kind of a electronic idle it is a fuel problem. Is the bike EFI or Carb? Are you putting in 91 octane fuel? Running below 91 octane can cause this problem after a long period of running the lesser. I found this out the hardway replacing everythiing from the coil to the computer. I hope this helps you
