SOURCE: 2003 WR250 F - eng. won't idle down and carb starts to overflow

Hi Jwelden,
Have you checked the float level in the float chamber?
I guess you may have to reset the float pin adjustment, its allowing more gas to pass through thn required and thus the overflow!
Not bad too, when you are working on the float assembly take the opportunity to blow out the fuel line from petcock to the carburator via the seat for the float pin,any foreign particals there would stop the float pin to seal up and thus overflow.
Fit in an inline fuel filter , this will help keep out the dirt or whatever.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: rebuilt carbs-starts and idles but wont rev up without choke on

sounds like the main jets are partly pluged, you must remve all brass jets and seats including needle jet and its slide soak in carb cleaner and blow out with compressed air only.. hold up to bright light to verify if all are clean. jim

SOURCE: 2002 Kawasaki ZR-7S. wont rev up.

Check you main jets ccccccthey could need a good wiring through with needle wire cleaners or try running it without any air cleaner unit .If it runs well then could be an air filter problem.

SOURCE: ltz 250 wont idle needs full choke to run.cleaned

hi,sounds to me like the air fuel ratio is all up the ***,locate the air/fuel screw on the carb(normally on the side)screw the screw right in untill it stops, then back the screw out 1.5 turns, this should get the bike to run without the choke, once you have the bike running simply turn the screw in or out untill the bike settles into a nice steady idle, should be good to go,hope this helps...cheers

95 Suzuki kingquad 350 will not idle at all. Starts and runs OK just wont idle. How do I fix this problem?

Try adjusting the idle screw on the side of the carb. If this don't work you need to clean the carb the pilot key is blocked. Regards Jom...

95 suzuki 250 quad king, at full throttle it runs at half power, choke seems inop

First make sure your choke circuit is working. May be an indication that your carb needs to be cleaned. I wouldn't replace it yet= clean it. If the choke circuits and the carb check out fine. An unresponsive motor/ carb usually means bad valves or valve timing. Example: it runs rich, spits fuel out the carb no matter how lean you set it. Even with the idle air closed it runs rich... intake valve is not closing or closing late. In that case it needs valves serviced.

Diaphrams can be tricky sometimes...seating can be irritating. If carb disassembled and cleaned out...might have to check adjustments. Make sure screw didn't get loose. I had one do that before when governor broke.

Presume you turned the idle adjuster down ? . It sounds like theres an air leak , most likely between the carb and the head .is the inlet manifold cracked or loose ?

Stihl FS85 starts fine, But not take full throttle

Pumping the primer bubble while the engine is running should cause the engine to over fuel and stall (if the tuning is correct). Sounds like its not fueling enough, pumping the primer is forcing fuel through the carb causing the engine to pick up rev's, but this is soon exhausted which is why it wont rev on the throttle.
* Check that the fuel line is not damaged and drawing in air. (if this is intact try the next step)
* Strip and clean the carb. Replace any diaphrams if needed.
* Check gaskets seal between carb, air filter and cylinder.

Just out of curiosity what standard carb settings did you use.?

Hard starting 95 king quad 300

bad gas...caused carb contamination...probably water in the reserve part of the tank (which comes from ethanol separating in the gas...drain the tank (reserve side too)...open the drain screw on the bottom of the carb...re-fill and try again...

Does not idle and revs up and down and then it

You need to rebuild your carb. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: When you remove your idle/high speed jet screws be sure to count the turns...the ideal way is to count the turns when you bottom out the screws and the when you replace them, bottom them out and turn the screws to the same position before removal ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The problem you described is normally caused by debris in the carb. While you have the carb apart, it would be wise to replace the diaphrams also, they will harden in time and cause hard starting and sporatic running I hope this helps, good luck Please rate me, Thanks
