If it works fine when you rev it check to make sure that your front and rear sprockets are not stripped out or bad, because that could cause the chain to slip.
If that is not the problem then check the gears on the inside they could also be going bad.
Finally check to see if the piston ring(s) are not worn out.this could reduce compression and the overall performance of the bike

NOT clutch issue - if it was the clutch the rpms would rev out but bike would go no faster.
Sounds like carburetor may be partially plugged up, main jet.
Or air filter needs replacing.

My kx 80 (1992) starts and revs up nice but wen put into gear it hardly moves, the heavyer the person trying to ride it the less it goes, when I lift the back wheel off the floor (no pressure on engine)...

Front wheel drag (locked brake).Bad tire air pressure. If not,is carburetor cloged, need to drain (bolt under) or remove to clean. If the motor revs in the gear ,the clutch slip.Could be bad clutch cable tension or need replace clutch/cable.

Transmission wont shift into any gear

if you can shift gears with car off might be the clutch or slave cylinder. If you can start the car in gear, clutch pushed in and doesnt try take off probally not slave cylinder. But if it tries to take off, slave cylinder. Now if it doesnt try to take off, ease clutch out. Does it move or just rev up? If it revs up likely the tranny. But if it moves can you shift thru all gears,if so clutch is shot.

I have a 91 xr200, problem is it runs fine but i can go through al the gears and it doesn't move. have i got 2 split the cases? think its only minor? something not engaging

You need to look at your clutch. If you can, I'd get a good manual, as the factory ones are the best, but Hayes, and Clymer make manuals also. If your going to keep the bike, it's worth it.
If you don't want to work on it, take it to a good bike mechanic.
(The clutch is what engages the engine to the transmission.)

Our Yamaha 100 runs excellent until yesterday, will slightly move in 1st gear, nothing in 2nd. Oil is good, where should I start?

if the bike revs and doesnt or barely moves like it is slipping youll need to buy a clutch kit it will consist of clutch plates and friction plates the cost is about $70 to $90 you should be able to order it at any repair shop it is located on the brake pedal side the round cover on the main part of the engine if you decide to fix it your self take pictures as you go so you can look at them as a refrence
