Need to add a seat but $1200 is not reasonable. Anybody done it custom?

My Drifter came with a very nice solo seat. I would like to attach a passenger seat to it. Corbin is the only seat company that makes seats for this bike other than Kawasaki's. $1200 for that seat along with the kit, any other possibilities?

Are you near NJ? I'm looking to ditch my two-seater on my Vulcan Classic for a single seat, so if it's possible, I willing to switch outright. I haven't really looked at it to tell if this is possible.

Google " motorcycle salvage kawasaki ". Chances are you can find a seat there and pay a whole lot less.

Im looking at an '04 road king custom to buy. Quetion is, is the seat a two piece where it can become a solo seat?

Depends on the type of seat that is on it. I don't think the stock seats are two piece. But, there are seats available to convert it to a solo bike. Mustang is the best buy for the money in my book.

I can't remove the solo seat thats on my 07 deuce

The head of the attachment bolts are under the fender. Just run your hand under there and you'll find them. Naturally this can be done without taking the wheel off but it is in a tight location.

Putting a Kawasaki double seat in place of the stand. solo seat.

yep you need some extra hardware to support the passenger. I've looked for about 30 minutes and I can't find one where I always go.....Ha I found one! http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm/Module/Main/TypeID/26/Type/Motorcycle/MakeID/3/Make/Kawasaki/YearID/45/Year/2004/ModelID/4101/Model/Vulcan_1500_Drifter/GroupID/128755/Group/Optional_Parts if this doesn't work it is ronayers.com click OEM parts on the left tab and click online microfiche, then go kawasaki - motorcycles and then go from there selecting your bike............so now your looking at a long list of categories huh........click optional parts and there it is you need 35011A, 32046, 132A (2) to have a seat.....as far as the other parts that entirely up to you....of course your going to need the bolts as well but you can buy them at your local hardware store cheaper than on here but thats up to you
I hope this helps.......skim that picture and choose what you want or need I dunno if you have the passenger pegs or not and so on and so fourth.........hope to see your riding one day they are great bikes!
