The reservoir on yur carb runs out of gas. try to adjust the float on your carb so you will have suufficient gas. try also checking your pitcock. probably it is defective.

SOURCE: starting problems, misfire and eventual refusal to run

Hi it is definatly some dirt in the carbs, remove the main feed line from the tank into the carbs and gently blow some air into the carbs, and keep your face back, what this will do is blow any excess fuel includeing the dirt and trash that are in the jets out. just be careful not to blow it into your eyes. To actually see whats happing removing the airbox is also a good idea.I had the same problem with my 2002 zx9. Good luck

SOURCE: stalling when starting

if after the two mins ur putting the choke back in and the bike dies, it could be that your needing to adjust the idle speed.
it might just be set on the lower limit so that when ur bike isnt fully warmed up it struggles.

SOURCE: My 1996 Kawasaki Vulvan 800 backfires and stalls on acceleration?

sounds as if you may have a little trash or gunk in your fuel lines. remove the tank and lightly blow air form a waterless air line through the hose that feeds the carbs, this will dislodge and remove any trash that may have settled in the line and jets.( be sure the air box is closed or coverd so you do not blow fuel in your face)

SOURCE: 1992 kawasaki Vulcan 750 stops running

Check the intake manifold/s, even a small leak will make it run poor. Being stored for five years then putting it into use, you may have a blocked main jet. Sea-foam is a great product and I would have used that product to store the bike but not to get it running. It is slow acting so it doesnt work like carb cleaner.

SOURCE: bike acted like it ran out of gas

I have an 08 ZZR 600 too, and had the exact same thing happen to me. The fuel pump had to be replaced.

One thing it could be is the fuel filter. It's about the only thing that won't cause an engine light to come on.

Trying to start up it turns over fine everytime but 2 times out of 10 it will just keep turning over but not kick in

Has the bike been in storage for awhile for winter? If so was fuel stabilzer used. If not the gas is probably bad. Add 2 ounces of sea foam for every gallon of gas and introduce as much freah fuel as you can to the tank. Take it out and replace every gallon burned with a fresh gallon with 2 ounces of sea foam until the old gas has run through. You may get a lite blue cloud on start up but this is normal with the sea foam, its cleaning out the junk in the fuel system and engine. Hope this helps.

'07 Triumph Bonneville idles but wont accelerate

What happens when you try to accelerate?

Does the exhaust smell 'weird' when it's idling?

The most likely problem, especially with the bike sitting up during summer, would be gas has gone stale. If the bike sits long enough, the gas will actually turn into a varnish.

Drain the tank, refill with fresh gas, and let it run a while.
Basically, you have to run out whatever gas is between the tank and the cylinders, so the fresh gas can get to the cylinders.

I'd put a box fan blowing on the front of the bike to help keep the ehat down. Blip the throttle after a few inutes. Depending onhow much old gas is 'stored' in the fuel lines and such, it may take 10 or 20 minutes to burn out the old gas. Keep blipping every few minutes, and let it cool down after 20 minutes. Some bikes have short fuel path and clear in 2 minutes at idle, I've seen custom setups that took over an hour.

Where is the reserve tank

Is your bike fuel injected or carbureted? If it is fuel injected the tank has a 4.5 gallon tank and that's it. If it is carbureted the fuel petcock is a three position valve (ON, OFF, RES), the valve is configured in the tank where ON allows fuel to flow until you are down to about 1/2 a gallon at which time you would turn the petcock to RES which allows the engine to use the last 1/2 gallon of fuel and gives you time to hunt down a gas station.

There is no separate "reserve" fuel tank.

06 COBALT STALLS WHEN I STOP AHHHHHHHHHHHH

Easy fix... Take a gallon of gas and a clean cloth or shirt. Soak the cloth in the gas and wipe all the interior down with the gas.

Then poor some of the gas all over the engine, making sure to soak it really good

After doing this, take a match and burn that f**ker..
Mine was doing the same thing, I burned it and blamed it on Islamic jihad to my insurance. Never looked back

Computer fuel consumption indicator randomly displaying numbers

This is a potential solution but if you are traveling down the highway and take your foot off the gas (or if you are on cruise no gas is required to maintain your speed) then the instant mpg calculation is similar to this 60 MPH / 0.0 GPH so effectively you end up with infinite gas mileage. But because the motor has to idle it's always using a little gas so it puts a very small number for the denominator which ends up giving you a high MPG. I've seen this happen in many makes of cars and I don't think it's anything to worry about.
