Look on the left side of the engine case. Some of the bikes have the plug on the lower side of the engine block, rater than on the oil pan.

Where is the oil pan plug for a 2005 Harley Davidson 88 evvo

A general rule on any engine is that it will be at the lowest point on the oil pan under the bike. I think on your bike it is on the underside of the pan. To find the bolt find the rear foot peg and move straight downwards. It is usually a hex head bolt with a hex hole in the bolt head for a hex key, (Allen key). I recommend using a socket to remove the bolt as it gives a better grip on the bolt.
Clean the bolt and check the rubber 'O' ring it uses as a seal. If you are in Any doubt about it's condition Replace it anyway! They are usually cheap to buy. Clean the drain hole as well to prevent dirt getting into the oil pan. Once the oil has drained refit the drain plug bolt First, tightening it BY HAND. tighten to around 17 ft/lb. DO NOT over tighten as this will strip the threads on the bolt AND the drain plug hole, (an expensive fix!). Do this Before changing your oil filter and refilling the oil.
The bike needs to be fully upright to do an oil change so make sure it is securely mounted on a bike lift or a pit lane stand.

How do I change my oil pan gasket on my 95 ford Thunderbird, thank you first time car owner

Lift your car and place on jack stands. Then drain engine oil from pan. If there is/are any other steering or suspension components under oil pan, remove these first. Then, begin removing all bolts that hold pan in place. There should be a few bolts that come from the rear of the transmission section that also hold engine oil pan. Remove these. Once all bolts are removed, use a rubber mallet to tap oil pan until is breaks loose. If hard to remove, use a pry bar or flat head screw driver to pry oil pan off. Install in reverse order.

I'm trying to change oil pan. I've removed all visible bolts but it is stuck. Anything I might have overlooked?

If all the bolts are really removed, then try whacking it with a rubber mallet.....not too hard.
Hope this helps

Oil Pan Rusted and needs replaced

ok not to hard to replace you need to go to auto store and buy a new one. it may or may not come with new gaskett they can tell you what size you need if it dosent come with a new one. also you will need to drain the oil before removing the old pan so make sure to buy new oil for that.. your basicly doing an oil change so you may as well get new oil filter too. then after you have everything... new pan, oil, oil filter, gaskett.. just get under take out oil plugg drain oil in catch can. remove the oil pan bolts you may have too tap the oil pan in different directions to get it to drop off. clean away old gaskett if you need to, and replace new gaskett and oil pan, lay new gaskett ontop of new oil pan and hold in place to get a couple bolts started then start and tighten all bolts useing a cross bolt tightining pattern to make sure the pan is in place{ tighten one bolt then do opposit bolt} change oil filter, and refill with oil.. if you need to see this done youtube is an excillent place to find videos on this.. i hope this helps... remember to let the car cool before doing this so get everything you need and start the next day before you drive.. nothing worse that getting hot oil down you arm while your laying on the ground...

How hard is it to install oil pan on my 2000 deville, northstar engine

I worked on a 1999 Deville and to remove the oil pan wasn't to bad to change. All I had to do was Jack up the car and support it.Also remove the negative battery terminal.Drain the oil then remove the torque converter cover bolts and then the oil pan bolts and remove the oil pan.On some model Cadillacs there is also an exhaust cross under pipe that also has to be removed.Be sure not to over tighten the oil pan bolts there real hard to get out if you break one.Your going to have to find out how tight they should be because they all very depending on the vehicle. Most all of your auto parts stores have this information.

How do you change the oil on a 1985honda aspencade goldwing?

Center stand the motorcycle.First place your pan under the oil filter cover under the front right corner of the machine. Using a six point socket loosen the filter cover bolt and remove the cover. Dump out the oil in the cover being careful to save the spring and the washer that is stuck to the filter. Many Goldwings have lost there washer in a previous oil change , if lost replace the washer. If you desire change the o-ring on the bolt and the o-ring on the cover. Put the bolt back into the cover and place the spring first over the bolt, then the washer, then the filter , so the spring is pushing the filter against the engine. Put the new filter onto the motorcycle and snug up the cover bolt just enough so the oil wont leak out. Do Not Over Tighten The Cover Bolt. Now place the pan under the right rear corner of the motor. You will find a horizontal bolt near the bottom right rear corner of the main block of the motor. It will have an aluminum or copper sealing washer. Take off the bolt and let the oil drain out. When the oil is finished draining , put the bolt back in with a new sealing washer , if needed , and snug up the bolt just enough so that it does not leak or come out. Again do not over tighten the bolt. Now pour in the new oil through the dipstick hole. Be sure you use JASO MA certified motorcycle oil. You will need 4 quarts but you may have a partial quart left over. The quantity is something between 3.4 and 4 quarts. Run the bike and double check the oil level with your dipstick so you do not over fill.

Leaking oil from primary cover, I road my bike to work is it safe to ride it home . I checked the engine oil it's still full . and how hard is it to change this cover?

All old harleys leaked oil, so its no big deal. First try tightening all bolts to primary cover, they should be allen head, so you will need a allen wrench of correct size. To change gasket you will first need to remove floorboard to primary bolts, then all the allen bolts. Put a pan under to catch oil. scrape old gasket off and install new gasket with a small bit of rtv to hold it in place. Put everything back together.

Changing oil pan gasket on 02 impala ls 3.8

The engine does have to be raised. The bolts are not easy to get to until the engine is lifted and the engine mount is removed. I'm doing this job right now and the book time is around 5 hours.
