SOURCE: fuel leak at bottom of petcock valve 2000 fatboy

Sounds to me like a cracked fuel line. No leaks when sitting still but add the torque of the engine turning over and the vibration and the line flexes enough to leak. If not a fuel line, the weld may be cracked where the petcock mounts to the tank or the petcock itself may be cracked. Is the petcock water trap screwed on tightly?

Replace the petcock. The rubber diaphragm is ruptured. I'd also bet your fuel mileage dropped cause the ruptured diaphragm is allowing raw fuel to be sucked into the intake manifold.

2003 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 classic has a fuel leak from the carburetor

More than likely you have a bad fuel petcock. No fuel should go from tank to carb without the engine running because the fuel is pulled by vacuum. Remove line from petcock an have it set to on or reserve position and if fuel comes out it is bad, and let's the fuel continue to flow to the carb and seep into the engine oil also. Mine was bad and had my oil thin as water with all the gas in it. Wonder it didn't wash a bearing out of the engine. Check and drain oil immediately if the petcock is bad.

What should I check next? Not getting any error codes, replaced the CKP, MAP, IAC, TP, & ET Sensors. Not sure what I should try next, any suggestions would be appreciated.

If no DTC's are recorded, then it is most likely to be a fuel problem. You need to check the fuel pressure with engine running and this requires specialized test equipment. You need a gauge that can connect into the fuel line. Running pressure should be around 55 - 60 PSI. If the bike starts and runs ok for a minute, it is not bad gas. Bad gas is just that, bad gas. It will not burn correctly and the first thing noticed is hard starting. I assume the bike is fuel injection. If it has a carburetor then I would be checking the fuel flow as this symptom sounds like carb is running out of fuel. Dirty gas, fuel with debris in it. The petcock will be vacuum operated and if it has a leak, (on carb models), fuel flow will be affected. Also, the tank vent if blocked will affect fuel flow. Remove the fuel line from the carb, put end into a fuel safe container to stop fuel pouring all over the place generating a fire hazard, apply suction to the vacuum pipe on the rear of the petcock and you should have a good fuel flow. If you don't, then the fuel filter inside the tank on the petcock is blocked or the vacuum part of the petcock is faulty.

04 Harley xL883C Won't start after replacing petcock

Your comment about it running only as long as you're spraying carb cleaner into it tells me that the gas isn't getting to the carb.

Pull the fuel line off at the carb, turn on the petcock, and see if gas flows (use a cup to catch the gas).

If no gas flow, you'll know the problem is somewhere between the ga tank and the carb.

Hooking up the gas tank the gas line to petcox the vac line to petcox what is the other line what do it go to this is on a 1982 gs650 suziki

The other line goes to the fuel gauge overflow right next to the petcock vacuum line on the tank. Big nipple on petcock goes to fuel line leading between carb 2 and 3. Small nipple on petcock goes to the brass nipple on the front of carb number 2. The other hose hooks up to the nipple coming from the fuel sending unit and routes down below the battery and ends. It's there in case the fuel sending unit leaks the hose will route the gasoline away from a hot engine instead of pouring out right on top of it. The nipple to the fuel sending unit should be positioned pointing directly at the petcock on the bottom of the tank. In case you don't know what I mean by sending unit it's the big round circle on the left side of the bottom of the tank with 2 wires coming from it.

How do I change the fuel petcock on my 2000 FLSTC? Its leaking and my bike is barely running and then only with the enricher pulled out.

The Enricher is only there for starting the bike as it makes the fuel mixture too rich. Over use causes carbon deposits to build up and this can cause more problems.
The Petcock is a 'Screw On' fitting. First disconnect or remove the battery to prevent any accidental sparks.
**NOTE** Do this outside or in a very well ventilated area.
Cover the side of the COLD engine with a plastic sheet to protect from splashes of fuel.
Next drain the fuel tank. ALWAYS make sure the gas can you fill into is bigger than you need to prevent overspill. Use an extra long piece of fuel line so you can stand the gas can on the floor as it might take a while to empty. Set the petcock to Reserve as it feeds from lower in the tank. Remove the filler cap and put it to one side until you are finished fitting the new part. (Faster flow when your emptying and better ventilation when working).
An extra option is to put some masking tape on the underside of the tank to prevent scratching the paint. It might be easier to disconnect any fuel line at the petcock before removing it.
Using a suitable wrench unscrew the nut between the tank and the top of the petcock. It should twist towards the front of the bike.
**NOTE** Watch for any fuel dripping from the hole as you slide the petcock down and out.
Refitting.. Before fitting unscrew the mounting nut on the new petcock so it spins freely. This allows it to grab more threads when fitted giving a better fuel tight fit.
Clean the threads and hole on the tank with a rag. (Safely dispose of the rag when finished). Set the new tap to the OFF position. Carefully slide the filter body into the tank so you don't damage the filter mesh. Position the tap to the correct angle, (it doesn't have to be exact). With you fingers push the petcock firmly into position and wind the nut into place until it is finger tight. Then using a suitable wrench turn the nut until it is firmly tight. DO NOT over tighten the nut. This will strip the threads and leak fuel all over you and the engine.
Connect your fuel lines and fill the tank with about half a litre of fuel and open the petcock to the Reserve position. This is to test for any obvious leaks. Refill the tank to full, refit the fuel cap, and recheck all your pipes and connections. If you had any drips or spills Clean them up properly. Reconnect the battery and take you bike out for a run getting her up to working temperature. On your return recheck all your pipes and connections. Job done.

Fuil in air box getting in oil dr200se year 2005 have carb soaking now olny 500 miles cant be worn may be the dry rot o ring in pet **** so far all the diaframs good in pet **** and diafram in top of...

What you are dealing with is a vacuum petcock with a bad vacuum diaphragm , in this case fuel is bypassing the petcock via the vacuum line and filling the engine (oil) with gasoline.
If you have a standard petcock that is leaking (not shutting off properly) or just left in the on position a stuck float needle will also fill your engine (oil) with gasoline. This can happen with a clean carburetor and a good float needle. It just sticks and you have to change your oil. If you have the kind of fuel petcock that allows you to turn it off when not in use , always turn off your gas when not riding.
You will have to change your oil if it is fouled with gasoline. I suspect a vacuum operated petcock is at fault. With standard petcocks I have seen new motorcycles in perfect order stick a float needle ( Kei Hin Carburetors ) and fill there engines and air boxes with gas/oil mix. On vacuum petcocks the diaphragm that shuts off the fuel flow is usually leaking and at fault.

My 2005 yamaha TTR 125 will not let gas flow into the carb bowl, you can pour gas into it and it starts right up, thanks!

Your float in the bottom of the carb is likely stuck in the up position. The float attaches to a valve that shuts off fuel flow when level is just right. Can you see the little screw at the bottom of the bowl? Do you see the little overflow hose below that? Get a plastic soda bottle, put the outlet of the tiny hose into it. unscrew that little screw a few turns. Do you see fuel coming out? No? then take the back end of a screw driver and tap the bowl of your carb sharply 5 or 6 times. (Make sure the fuel pet **** under the tank is turned on. If you do not see fuel going into your bottle in a minute, shut off fuel at the tank. Screw the bowl drain back in. Remove the larger incoming fuel line that goes from tank to carb and put it into the bottle. Now you will open the petcock a little bit slowly. If you never see fuel come out of the tank, thru that hose, then your screens on the petcock may be clogged. Shut off fuel , Remove the cap on your fuel tank. blow into the line while slowly opening the petcock valve. Hear air bubbling in the tank yet? If you do, shut off valve, remove air pressure from line, point it back into the bottle and reopen the valve. If none of this works, then you need a new petcock valve.

Leaking Fuel tap (petcock)

This sounds like a vacuum lock pet ****. 3 position? run, prime, and reserve? If you have it on pri, You will fuel running or not. If set on run, then you will only pass fuel when engine is running, and of course res. when tank is used up. Is this leak at the valve? or from the tank or internally flowing? Tis should also be a gravity feed fuel system, please correct me if I'm wrong. good luck. Long fuel lines are not prefered on gravity feed systems.
