Hello Mike...did you check fuel the pump relay? It is located to the
left of fuse box, wedged against left kick panel and above hood latch. Remove fuse box cover and lower dash panel for access. Check the voltage to the fuel pump circuit. You should be able to hear the pump "wizzz" when you turn the key on. Useing starting fluid is a no no...will result in cylinder scaring, possible explosion and bodily harm...Also...if the check engine light is on diagnostic trouble codes need to be retrived and corrected.
Good luck...i hope this helps

Cub Cadet has gas, has spark, has air -still won't start/run

Are you pulling the plug to check for wetness after cranking it a few times, WITHOUT using the starting fluid? Also, I would recommend using carb cleaner in place of the starting fluid. Starting fluid runs the engine VERY hot for a brief time and can possibly damage rings, valves, and aluminum parts.

Ran out of gas-truck won't start-replaced fuel

you probably have air in the lines, if you have a carb, spray some quick start into the carb and turn it over, if it starts and then dies when the starting fluid has run out, you probably need a fuel pump, since the running of the car should have blown out any air that was in the line, If your car is fuel injected, loosen the bolt cap at the end of the injector line that supplies the fuel,, and tap the key once,, ( don't start it,, ) just turn the key on and off 3 or 4 times, this should blow fuel out of that loose bolt head, if it does your getting fuel, if not, back to the fuel pump, also you can check this link, http://www.aa1car.com/library/us1296.htm

My 1994 honda civic v-tec will turn over, get a spark and it seems to be getting fuel. But is still will not crank.

if it turns over and you are sure there is spark the only thing left is fuel. Get a can of starting fluid and have someone spray it into the open air filter box while trying to start the motor. if it starts the problem is fuel pump and or fuel filter

Will not start. Have replaced distributer and starter module

If you have a manual transmission check the rubber gromets on the top of your clutch pedal. If they are dry-rotted or missing your vehicle will not start.

With your Clarifications I suggest having the Fuel Pump Pressure Tested as one other gentleman suggested that it is most likely bleeding down overnight. Another possibility would be the Fuel Filter being clogged. The factory recommendation is to change fuel filters every 30,000 miles. Many people do not even know a Fuel Filter exists on their vehicles. Some years back they were near or in the carb. Weak Ignition would be the last thing to look into as the vehicle runs somewhat normally once started and running for a while. Modern vehicles have Electric Fuel Pumps inside the Fuel Tank. This is somewhat expensive to replace but necessary maintenance after many many miles. Good Luck!

If you have spark but will not styart without atarting fluid the you need to replace fuel pump and fuel filter if you have spark and no fuel your car will nit start and vice versa.

My 1994 Honda Civic has strong spark, but will not fire. After spraying starting fuel in the breather it will fire for a few brief seconds. Is it a fuel pump? Is it something else?

Sounds like you are not getting any fuel. I would start by replacing the fuel filter. If that does not help then I would look into the fuel pump.

What coul be keeping my 1986 honda civic from starting? The plugs all spark, the fuel pump gives gas to the carb, Ive changed all plugs cap and rotor and have tried spraying starter fluid directly into...

It cranks really good sputters a little and makes some loud pops but it will not turn over? FYI:Cranking and turning over are the same thing. When was the last time it ran. The gas could be bad. Did you get new plug wires as well. Try testing the distributor, remove a spark plug, plug it back into the wire, and touch the threads to ground and crank the engine. It should spark. Keep your fingers away, that's high voltage. Remove all spark plugs, spray some starting fluid in each cylinder, then crank the engine with the plugs out. This will clean any debris from the cylinders. Engines need backpressure to run properly, a major exhaust leak hence the popping, could cause it to not run. If you can get it started try to keep it going, full throttle, keep in the starting fluid, it could just need to get warm. I used to have one of them and they don't like it when they're cold.
