One item you might want to check is for a vacuum leak. All the rubber plugs and stuff on the module sometimes wear and leak. If the change was sudden or recent this might also be the culprit.
The IAC motor is not that difficult or expensive to replace if you feel you need to do that just let us know. Hope this helps,

1996 Jeep cold start heater location

It likely has EFI (electronic fuel injection) and an idle air control valve that regulate idle speed. They can get gummed and fail to have a fast idle when cold, or get stuck the other way, and have a too fast idle all the or regularly take its time slowing down after you take your foot off the gas. An engine temp sensor can also cause a lingering high idle if it reports the engine as still being cold after warm up.

2001 roadking EFI very fast idle

Hi Anonymous, high idle on fuel injected models can be casued by a faulty IAC valve located on the top front of the induction module. It has either failed electronically and needs to be replaced or mechanically getting gummed by contaminated engine blow by. You can try cleaning the unit by removing the air cleaner and backing plate, unplug, unscrew and remove the IAC. Using carb cleaner and " LOW " volume compressed air to clean the metal pintle and shaft that is spring loaded and has an operating length of just under 1 inch. Aventurous souls who did not heed the low air warning have launched pintle and spring into parts unknown. There is no guarantee this will work but worth a try since a new one is $50 Good luck picture pintle IAC valve harley Google Search

in all fuel injected cars you do not adjust idle. All you can do is clean the throttle and replace the Idle Air Control valve and check data thru a scanner to see if any sensors are out of specs. If this car has a maf sensor in the air filter tube it could become contaminated and cleaning or replacemnet will allow it to see more air which in turn allows the computer to add more fuel for better idling and accelration.

It is a2004 roadking,it is backfiring, running fast and rich.the garage have had it on their machine, but the fault is not showing.

I assume your bike is fuel injected. Did you take it to a shop that had a dynometer that is equpped with an exhaust gas analyzer? Most of the shops here run the bike up in the RPM range and check the fuel mixture at different RPM ranges. They want to get your bike so that it has a fuel air ratio of between 13.5 and 14.0 throughout the range from idle to about 4500 RPM.

1998 roadking idles to fast after it warms up.

Is it fuel injected or carbureted? If the bike is fuel injected it will idle fast until the engine warms up...if it continues to idle fast after about 10-15 seconds it could have a faulty sensor.

If carbureted, after you push the choke in does it still idle fast? If so, there is an idle adjust screw on the top of the carburetor just behind the air cleaner.

Do you have a tach on the bike? If you do, then the normal warmed-up idle should be 1000rpm.

By design, as engine gets "too" hot idle goes down and firing of rear cylinder is skipped every second or third cycle.

I have an 87 Accord with fuel injection that always had a fast idle, and a surging problem when warming up. Both problems went away when I replaced the fast idle valve, which is bolted to the rear of the intake manifold just downstream of the throttle body.
