The two wire system is for a turn signal only unit. The three wire unit has a turn signal and a running light in it. Remove the turn signal lense and you'll probably see a dual filament bulb. The two wire system is shown as an "International" wired model according to my book. One wire is the "hot" wire (Brown) and the other is a ground or earth wire (black) on the bike. On the turn signal unit, probably all wires are black. You can use a VOM to determine which wire is the ground wire or you can just try hooking them up in different ways until you find one that works.

How to hook up a 2 wire system to a 3 wire system, help!

The 3 wire is a running light/turn signal combo. On the three wire you have neutral, turn sig hot and running light hot.
If you want the two wire bullet light to be a turn sig, you will have to hook up the neutral/ ground and the turn sig hot. The running light hot will be capped.
If you want the bullet light to be both a turn sig and a running light you will have to buy an aftermarket product to regulate the power to the lights.

How do I install my intergrated tail light with turn signals i got the tail light to work but the stock turn signals have about three wires each

The stock turn signals have 3 wires1) Positive for turn signal2) Positive for cruising light (comes on with the light switch's 1st click)3) Ground.Obviously you can either replace the entire turn signal with the aftermarket one and stop using the cruising light or bypass the positive wire for the turn signal only, to the aftermarket one, and leave the original turn signal with the cruising light only.

I know absolutely nothing about the Badlands turn signal units. My suggestion is to forward your question to them as it's one of their units that you have question about. I hope they can give you answers. I sorry that I can't help you.

HI THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR REAR LIGHTS IS THAT YOU HAVE A BROKEN NEGATIVE WIRE FOR THE REAR LIGHT CLUSTER TO PROVE THIS, SIMPLY RUN A LENGTH OF CABLE FROM THE METAL CASING OF THE LIGHT CLUSTER AND GO DIRECT TO THE BATTERY NEGATIVE IF ALL THE LIGHTS THEN WORK THAT PROVES ALL THE FEED SIDE .MOST MOTOR BIKES HAVE BULLET CONNECTIONS YOU NEED TO TRACE THE WIRING FROM THE BACK OF BIKE TO THE FRONT UNDER THE SEAT TO THE FUSES IF YOU CAN,T FIND ANYTHING LOOSE OR BROKEN THEN I SUGGEST YOU MAKE A NEW NEGATIVE RETURN TO BATTERY NEGATIVE A PERMANANT ONE THIS SHOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. GOOD LUCK{ FROM AN AUTO ELECTRICIAN}

If you have two wires that go to the turn signal and they don't work one way. You could try them switched around.
This is for a turn signal that is NOT also a running light. (Yellow Lens to Rear)
Use a test light and turn on the turn signal test both wires with the test light clipped to the ground or chassis of the bike. The wire that causes the light to blink will be the positive or hot side. That wire should attach to the bottom of the bulb.
The other wire is the Ground or common and that should attach to the side of the bulb holder.

The unit must be grounded to the bikes frame. Connect it back up to the bike this time without pinching the wires. You should have a blue wire, a violet/brown wire and a black wire if you have the three wire unit, minus the black with the two wire unit. The blue wire is for the running light, the violet/brown wire is for the turn signal and the black wire is ground. If you don't have a ground wire, the metal part of the signal light itself is the ground.

Need to know what fuse runs the turnsignal flasher in a 883 1997 sportster

The 1997 Sporty did not use a turn signal flasher unit. It uses a turn signal control module instead. This module controls all turn signals and four way flasher. It also performs the "cancelling" function once the time limit has run out on the flashing process. It's a "black box" about 1 1/2 inch wide by 3 inches long by about a 1/2 inch thick. It gets it's power from the Lights fuse 10 amps. If you contact me directly, I can scan you a wiring diagram and e-mail it to you. wd4ity@bellsouth.net
