GSF1250 Bandit - intermitant start. Starter motor will some times crank over and engine will start immediately. Other times the starter motor will not even click. Battery fully charged. Side stand up...

there is a common fault with the 1250 bandit in that the magnets detatch inside the starter motor and it eventually breaks up and stops working, this can begin with sluggish starter especially when hot, it would appear to be a flat battery but the power required by the failing starter can drop the battery off quickly to confuse you when trying to find your fault

Fault with electric start on my Suzuki GSF 250 Bandit

Check that the clutch is in, kick stand up, and neutral light ablaze. Then try your start button. When you had it running and hit the button, the starter engaged at a slower speed then the bike engine was turning, which led to the stall. The stall means your starter works. If the starter works when the engine is running then it is wiring. Check your kick stand wiring along with the clutch wires which plug in on the handlle bar or where the clutch cable enters the engine.

I need to convert my bandit 1200 fluid clutch to cable can anybody help ?

I don't understand why you would want to do this, but I suggest you see if a sprocket cover from a 600 bandit would fit in place of the existing one. The sprocket cover is the bit behind the alternator housing on the left hand side of the engine. Since the 600 is cable clutch, i think it works on the worm gear principle, that may solve the problem.

Hello I have a 2001 Suzuki bandit 1200. The problem is when I depress the starter switch. I hear the normal spinning of something below near the top of the engine. but the motorcycle wont start. 2...

I had the same thing happen. It's a problem with the starter clutch and how it's attached . A primary bolt is loose. Be sure to have your mechanic use some locktite or really wrench it on there tight--my guy fixed it and then the same thing happened again 10 mos later. But it hasn't happened again in the several years since then. Good luck.

Suzuki 600 bandit won't start

It could be the starter, or it could also be the starter switch or more over have you first checked tht engine 'kill' switch? If its on 'off' (Kill) position the starter won't operate from the button!

Other way is to short circuit the starter throught the solenoid switch and see if it works. If it does work thn the switch (button) is faulty you may hve toreplace it or sometimes a good cleaning can revive it due to carbon deposits at the contact points.
Thirdly, I hope the battery is at its top performance too!
Hope this helps.
