Yamaha Virago XV125 2002 Clutch not releasing when leaver pulled

The Clutch on my Virago xv125 does not completely release when the clutch leaver is pulled .. I can push it forward quite easily in use the starter it cuts out, suggesting it is not completely releasing.. I have set the leaver free play to 10 to 15 mm as specified in the handbook.. Does anyone know where I can get a service manual for this model?

Yamaha wr200 bike clutch fitment

take clutch case off , you then see the clutch basket and you need to remove the center plate with about 6 bolts , then remove the fiber coated plates along with metal plates .. then replace first a fiber coated plate followed by a metal plate then a fiber following this until all plates are in and a fiber plate is showing ! then replace the cover plate with 6 bolts , tighten all bolts then undo the center nut with the adjusting screw and back it off until there is slight free play on the clutch leaver as you pull it and then release! lock the nut up holding the screw and try ! soak fiber plates for an hour before installing also ! cheers

So duan3longwo how do I know if the clutch is adjusted right on my 89 Yamaha virago 1100? If the clutch cable it's good at the lever could it still be off a little at the crank case? Since it's a wet...

A proper adjustment will have a cable that has just a little slack. It has to completely release the clutch, and completely engage it. Low oil may affect it, too much oil will be struck by the crank and foam up.

Do i need to be in gear to adjust clutch

In the past when I adjusted the clutch on my Virago, I would have the bike in gear...with engine off, make sure pulling in the clutch allows the bike to roll..... Then with the engine running I would adjust for the point at which the clutch would begin to engage upon release. Make sure when released, the clutch is fully engaged and isn't slipping.

Check your kickstand switch. It will not allow the engine to run in gear when you release the clutch lever. It may be gummed up.

Charging Issues 1983 Virago 920 midhight

Are the handlebars on rubber mounting? They may be grounding through the clutch cable. Check for a loose grounding wire in the headlight housing.
The alternator is a 3-phase unit--if one or two of the phases have open wiring or bad rectifier (total of 6-diodes) sections, the voltage output will be reduced. When the engine is released from load (clutch), the engine speeds up making more voltage.

Neutral Light Stays On Permanently - Yamaha XV125

it'll be a wire going into the crankcase which has probably been pulled out of the switch i think the switch is on the left side towards the back.

failure to locate it, just remove the bulb and live without it. you will soon get used to feeling when neutral
