I would check the brakes as the rotors could be warped. And maybe check for a loose power steering belt. You didn't say how old is the unit!

Generally alignment problem is an alignment problem there is no intermitant symptoms. more thatn likely its a brake that is hanging up when applied and one side the caliper is sticking causing a pull in one direction. quickest fix is to take the cailpers off and lube the guide pins then replace the calipers and make sure they move freely when apllied and let off. this will cure the problem

The truck is a stock 2004. I've got a bit of uneven wear on the right front rotors, but not signfigant. I'm still at a loss regarding the (very) occcasional pull to the left, and feeling of over-turn in corners.
Shifts fine drives fine until 40 mphthen pulls to the right suddenly. Steering wheel ***** to the left then seems fine.
