Start at your key and work your way back. did you add anything? how long has it sat? check your battery cables. too much gunk on them and it wont make any contact

Is there a fusible link on this bike.?( a small strip of lead between the battery and the cable) I know the battery reads 12 volts but you need to get it load tested to see if its any good. Many parts stores have them now.Once you know the battery is 100% you can check the battery cables.ground and starter solenoid, stator, and so on.good luck

New Battery in Bike, turn the key and nothing happens.

Get a test light probe so you can follow the power lead from the battery to the fuses. It will show you where power is getting to and where it isn't.

When I turn the ignition key absolutely nothing happens, no noise, clicking. I replaced the battery and still the same

Check the starter relay, check all fuses. Check the battery cable connections to make sure they are not loose or dirty.

My 2006 pt cruiser wont start, no lights or radio. nothing? when i turn key nothing happens inside or out

Check the battery terminals for corossion. Look for the chalky white powder which is a tell tale sign. Simply move the cable connectors back and forth a few times to loosen corossion and provide a better contact. Have you checked your fuses. I probably spelled corossion wrong, sorry.

My 1995 chevy blazer will not start. While replacing the fuel filter I noticed that the fuel pump did not seem to be working. Should I check relays before replacing the pump?

Hey Longshot,

Absolutely. They are normally in with the engine compartment fuses. When you find it, either switch it with one of the others or jump the Common and Normally Open leads.

The pump should engage when you turn the key On for the former.
The pump should engage immediately on the latter.

This will tell you only if the relay is good or bad.

Hyundai Tiburon Won't Start

Possibly the alarm cut-off switch? or Ignition key switch (or wires) going bad?

But you mentioned you tried to jump start it and it did turn over?
IF so, you could have severe corrosion or loose connections of the battery cable both at the battery and at the termination points, such as ground and starter motor.
Check that the battery wires are tight and clean at the battery posts and at the other end.

Again the No lights suggests either the alarm cut-off, or an absolute disconnected battery cable.

Finally, it could be ignition fuse, Check fuses. Ignition key switch.

What makes this hard is that you suggest it would turn over with another battery connected. This makes no sense.

Good luck

When trying to start my 2003 jeep cherokee nothing happens. It is like as if the car is not connected to a battery because like I said nothing happens. When I looked under my hood of course my battery was...

Hi just because the battery is new does not mean anything turn on your head light to see if they come on, if not most likely the battery, if you have a volt meter I would check the battery. Now if the light do come on then I would check the fuse for the ignition system, pull the fuse complete out to check if it is blown. These two check I would start with. Please let me know how you make out.

Cheers

1994 corvette wont start

Dunno if it is your problem but have had this same 'died without warning' effect from nothing more than a corroded battery clamp or terminal at the starter with the same problem.

A cheap multimeter will tell you if there is any life at all and by measuring at the terminals when having someone turn the key, then doing the same at the clamps themselves will tell you quickly if it is simply failed contact at the battery.
If the battery measures ~ 12.6 volts with no load (nothing turned on) and still the same with the key turned to start, then the terminals are at fault.

Something I have never seen before happened to one of our sons just yesterday; his Optima (costly) battery lost contact INSIDE of the battery!
It measured zilch until we dropped it on the ground (on purpose) then it measured normally 12.6 VDC.
We reinstalled it and again, as soon as he attempted to start the Jeep, even the underhood light went out and didn't come back on and the battery again measured 0 volts.
