Maybe it's because you're phone might off turned off and you didn't know. Because, if a sidekick turns off, normally when it comes back on everything is gone.

First off let me start by saying that this is pointless to use sidekick outside of the US or t-mobile network. it is my understanding that the sidekicks run over the tmobile data network but actually use that only to access resources through the Danger network. effectively, everything you bought a sidekick for will not work outside of this configuration. the only thing you can actually get to work outside of the network may be the calling feature but without the data plan, there is no internet,email,chat,txt,nothing at all.

that being said, the code your looking for can be provided by your phone provider it was originally assigned to but it will only work if your contract completed and in good standing. basically, call t-mobile when your contract is up and they will happily provide the unlock code foryou. I have done this with my sidekick 3 last year when I moved and they were good about it because I had completed my contractual obligation and was month to month.

Is the space bar on your Sidekick LX not working when you are trying to text or in AIM? Do you have thesame space bar button problem on your T-mobile Sidekick 2008? Does the Sidekick spacebar work in other apps though?
If so then this fix is for you.
1. Open the AutoText & Spelling screen. From the Jump screen, press the MENU button, then select Settings > AutoText & Spelling.
2. Uncheck the following settings:

• • Highlight misspelled words
  • Auto correct spelling

3. Exit out of the settings screen and try it out.
Hopefully, this will have solved your issue.
How to check for misspelled words with these two options unchecked?
Run a manual spell check on T-mobile Sidekick: To run a spell check while in a text field from any Edit Text submenu, or by using the keyboard shortcut by pressing MENU +S.
