Sounds like its starving a bit , try adjusting the fuel air mix screw,  Take air filter out and give it a good clean first before any adjustments ok?

Could the carb be gummed up with the float sticking? Can you increase the idle rpms and then take the choke out?

Why is the 1994 trickedout 750 Magna so badass?

Its getting two much air or jets clogged up, check the breather carb connection and drop bowls on carbs and check jets.

My 1996 VF 750 C Magna starts fine with the choke open. After a minute or so as I reduce the choke and try to open the throttle, the engine just stalls out. Cannot seem to get the throttle to control

I think you are mixed up. The choke is usually closed to start a cold engine and opened once the motor warms up. The choke is closed to restrict the air flow and make the mixture richer in fuel. You can't open a choke that's already open. It's stalling because it's starved of fuel. Either a blockage or the fuel pump is not supplying enough gas.

750 magna idles too high, idle adjust is backed all the way out, still too high

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Throttle cables improperly adjusted, pinched or need lubrication.
2. Idle adjusting screw needs to be backed off.
4. Air fuel mixture adjusted too lean start with 2 full turns.
5. Intake system air leak.
6. Fast idle choke ramp is not releasing.
7. Broken throttle return spring.
8. Damaged diaphragm or slide.
9. Faulty MAP, TPS, ATS, O2, sensors or wiring/connector.
10. Multiple carburetors not in sync.

98 honda magna. had fuel stabilizer last october. now it starts with choke but won't rev or idle. only choke keep it running. switched out fuel. put new fuel and additives, but nothing good yet. what...

Even though you put stabilizer in the fuel, it sounds like the jets in the carburetors gummed up. Additives wont do much good at this point. You need to remove, disassemble and clean the carburetor passages and jets.

just a common thing in cold weather, sometimes you have to ride about 5 miles with choke half out, till the engine warms up. try draining your carbys or cleaning them out, sounds like ti could be running abit lean and not getting enough fuel

1997 honda magna, has not run for couple of years, was able to have it idle, with full choke, push in choke after warmed up, and it stalls. Then it will restart with full choke. left it alone for a week,...

Sounds as if the carbs are fouled. Best bet is to get rid of the old gas, remove, tear down and clean up. With time old gas will cause plugging in jets and such. If you are able to drain all the old gas from the tank you may be able to get away by using new gas and a fuel treatment for cleaning the carbs. You'd have to get the engine to run for a bit to get the fuel cleaner in to the carbs, if the jest are plugged you'll have to tear them down.

I hope this may have helped,
Tom

My 96 magna starts, but wont rev up. I installed new plugs, drained the carbs, blew the fuel lines, changed the gas, checked all vacume lines, removed the air cleaner,& blew air through the top bowl...

put air cleaner back in the airbox as it is needed to create proper vacuum.blowing pressurized air into the openings on the carb could cause the float needle valve to stick to the seat.make sure your control cables are not in a bind, make sure fuel flows to the carb with pressure from pump (not just gravity feed)
