If the float needle is damaged or the float height is set wrong then the float can't shut off the flow of gas coming into the carb. It's the same concept as your toilet running. If the float doesn't shut off the water or doesn't seal it just keeps running.

You will have to adjust the float pin of tht particular carb and don't remove them off the rack..just pull them out of the engine and work on the one tht needs attention.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: i have a 1995 katana with mikuni carbs. i cleaned
ok it seems to be overfilling the bowls in the carbs make shure the floats in the carb are working and not filled with liquid if made of metal they must be leveled any bending if the tabs on the floats will cause irregular level in the carb another one is the check the float needle and make shure the rubber tips are not damages and check there seats for debri bloking the fuel port! good luck!
Testimonial: "THANKS, THE FLOATS ARE PLASTIC,there no appearent leaks in the floats.but the seats were not level."

Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Gas pouring out is an overflow. The only reason there would be an overflow is when the float activated valve does not close the fuel inlet port. This could be caused by dirt, sand, rust or any foreign material. Fix would call for a carb pulldown, soaking non-rubber parts, and cleaning.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

if you have idea for the removing carbs set, remove it from the block and dismantle all small parts, you can clean using gas, paint brass and pressurized air. for blowing small hole. be sure all kit to return back with no left behind.
