I HAVE A 2000 CHEVY S10 4.3 ENGINE coil sparks but no spark from distributor. can the cam sensor cause this problem?

If you take coil wire loose from distributor cap and hold close to engine ground, engine cranking, does a spark jump? If it does, make sure rotor turns when you crank it. The pink wire at the coil goes hot with key on, that is primary voltage, use a test light, is it hot? That voltage comes from ecm fuse1--15 amp, check voltage with key on.
If sensor issue, my first thought would be the crank sensor. Just my opinion.

I have a 9n ford replaced entire ignition system points condenser rotor distributor cap coil new plug wires it will continue cranking but will not start . is it possible the timing gear has jumped time ?

Not real familiar but basically if it's a battery run system (not magneto) then I would turn the engine so the points are closed, Pull the coil wire from the cap and place it near the block so that you can see a spark if it happens.Disconnect the hot wire from the distributor and turn on the power. Scratch the wire to the post and it should make the coil spark. If not then something may be shorted out. (sometimes too long of bolt or a rotated wire connector) If you have spark then it's a timing issue. The only way a timing gear will jump is if a tooth is broken off and it will never run. Take the plugs out and crank it. If there's no horrible sound then it's just timing. Find TDC on #1 by holding your finger over the hole and crank it. If it's on the exhaust stroke, then you will feel nothing. Compression will blow. insert a soft wire down the hole and rotate the engine by hand. The wire will come out of the hole. It will stop and start to go down again. That point is close enough to top dead center. back off just a hair and that will be OK for timing. Taking note of rotor rotation, turn the distributor housing in the same direction until the points close. With the key on, rotate it the other way until the points spark and lock it down. That should get it running initially. Make sure that your wires are in the proper sequence. I've seen where it's been mistaken that it goes cw instead of ccw and visa versa.

I have a 67 triumph 650 bonniville tr120 custom chopper kick start only, it wont start. i put my hands on a spark plug wire and try to kick start and it wont shock me. what could it be?

just because you put your hand on the wire doesn't mean its not getting spark, pull the plug wire off the plug,, insert a screw driver in the end of the plug wire (you'll need help with this,,) have a friend hold the screwdriver close to a bolt on the motor,, crank it over and see if you see spark , It should arc from the screwdriver to the bolt, ( it has to be very close to the bolt but not touching, if you see spark,, pull the plug,, attach the wire back on the sparkplug,, and repeat the same thing, Only place the tab of the plug next to the bolt,, spark = you have spark,, if not ,, replace the plug

Try to start my 2000 expedition turn the key to the on position everything comes on radio lights ect and go to the start posistion to turn the motor over and nothing no click just a really loud beeping

There's also a security light in the speedomter housing. of this light is on and the light flashes as the beeping sounds the key is'nt being reconized by the computer, This car is well known for started failure so the wire also breaks off the started so look at the wires on the starter to see that they are connected anfd theat they have power the big cable shouls be hot all the time ( from the battery) and the little wire should come hot as the key is turned to start. if it doesn't come hot as the key is turned jump puwer from the battery wire to the small wire and the starter shsould crank ( it can make a spark so be careful to potect yopur self and your eyes from dirt and sparks. If the starter works and the small wire is'nt coming hot as the key is turned the car might not be in park good or may start in neutral. if it does the neural start switch might be bad or the gearshift linkage is loose andf the car is'nt all the way in park.

I m not getting any spark when i turn it over

Are you running the original. points and condenser ignition? It should be wired like this; hot wire from the key switch to the coils positive side; Negative side to the points/condenser hook up. points need to be adjusted at 18 - 20 on high side of the point cam. Points contacts need to be clean and corrosion free, no oil or grease on them, (you can run sand paper in between them). Put a GOOD business card in between the contacts pull back and forth a few times, use the card to adjust the points with; you want to feel for a slight tug, Check for voltage on the points/condenser hook up when the points are open, you should have 12 - 13 vDC there. No voltage when they touch, If the coils are good and the points are adjusted right you will have spark after the points touch and break. If all this is right and you do not get a spark your coil(s) are bad one or the other, be sure they are wired up right.. Hope this helps and Give a vote if it does. Thanks.

No start on old gasoline forklift engine.

most likely the ign switch is ok if you are getting spark. so you have a hot spark at coil and weak fire at plugs? if you have a test light check the positive side of coil for power when turning key on and cranking. if it is dropping power on positive side then ign switch could be bad. can "hotwire" coil by jumping a wire to positive side of coil to pos of battery this will eliminate ign switch.

Getting 12V on the ground wire to the coil. Any

the coil has two wires. one side is hot 12 volts the other side is the side that is pulsed to ground to create the magnetic field to induce high voltage.. with the key on not running you should see voltage on both wires... disconnect the plug from coil and recheck you will have power only on one wire that is the hot wire.. hook back the plug now take your test light ground clip and clip it to the positive terminal on battery. then back probe the wire to be pulsed.. have some one crank jeep and you look at test light.. looking for kinda dimm flash... if so that tell you you should have spark if not the bad coil.. if you don't see flash then probable bad pick up/... let me know

Whirlpool Gas range will not ignite, I have replaced the spark module but I have a very weak spark. Any ideas.

Hi there.

Check all spark points are working correctly. As you say, new spark module, so there must be a breakdown of insulation somewhere. Check to see where it may be arcing across. Usually at a trapped wire or hot contact point.
